Na, just tint them with Vvivid vinyl tint film from Amazon. That’s what I did on mine, looks great and it’s super easy (like your mom).

I also did the amber delete for the front turn signals with the same stuff. It’s a bit harder and requires some 3M knifeless tape, but I did it with no prior experience after watching a few YouTube videos. Praise Lord YouTube!
