Please tell me I should buy...

cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/842281307/overview/

Might have to type www. in front of the url because it won't let me post since I'm new.

Would this be considered a good deal for CPO? Still seems expensive to me but maybe I just need to come to terms with the used prices :\
I'm pretty partial to the 2018 GT2 AWD so this would be the right car for me but man it seems like a lot for a 2018

That is very low miles for a MY18. If the car is pristine, I don't think that's a terrible price. But you should be able to get it OTD for well under $40K. Whether they think so is the unknown part.

That's what I was thinking on the miles...however I'd have to fly out there and drive it back to near Seattle, WA....so like 1700 miles which is over 10% of what's on there haha. Maybe that's dumb to do. I guess I could call them and try to negotiate the price down but I've never bought a car from a dealer out of state, especially that far out of state. Is there anything I should be aware of?

It also says:
"*Vehicle subject to a $895 reconditioning fee that includes a one-year maintenance package, two-year interior protection plan, Vin Etch, multi-point inspection, and free car washes. See dealer for exact details."

Since I obviously wouldn't be able to use any of that I should hope they're willing to bypass that? I would probably try to bring that up last after just straight up negotiating the price down so they don't use that as part of the negotiation.

You'd have to ask some of the guys who have done that. But I haven't heard of anyone driving THAT far to fetch their car. I'd say pass on this one too. The dealer won't be interested even in talking to somebody who wants to ditch all of his addons, who lives that far away: he wants a local sale obviously.

Why don't you just buy a new gt for 38k?

I figured as much but that was super helpful Merlin. Thanks for the perspective and as much as I'd love to get a new one of these I just really want the GT2 stuff which was part of the deal with my wife to get it. Thanks all!

not sure what your "must have" entails, but be sure the 2018 has what you want (GT2 got a few more goodies in 2019).

Stay away from a modded GT2 with
50k miles that was tuned. IMO
There are better deals out there, just have to be patient. I bought my Loaded AWD 2019 GTS used for $35400 (with delivery) 4500 miles, Kia CPO, all season tires, tinted windows, painted wheels. Nothing else done to the car, and the things that were done saved me about $2k in changes I would have made anyway (which to me had value).

I was looking for about 4 months.

Ok so this isn't a perfectly easy definitely buy deal and maybe it's a definite pass but that's why I'm here. I want to join the hive but under good circumstances and I'm not sure if this would be that.

I found a post local to me with a guy selling his 2018 GT2 with 50k miles (a lot I know) but he's priced it at what he owes on the loan which is $31k.
I'd obviously want to get my mechanic to take a look at this before making a decision but I wanted to check here before even doing that in case I should just hard pass.

Details:
2018 GT2 AWD
50k miles
Aftermarket cold air intake
has hks blow off valves
After market Comma AI system
JB4 tuner

Clean title
2 owners
Only damage is curb rash on wheels....we can't all afford the 360 cams :(
Sounds like most miles were highway but it's also a daily driver so a good mix either way

Anyways, please let me know if there's anything I should worry about here before I take it to the mechanic or if it's even worth doing that.
Thank you!
That's over priced.

I got an 2019 GT2 AWD fully loaded for 30-35k at 10k miles.

30k for a 2018 50k gt2 is a no go. Unless they did bigger turbos, exhaust, carbon, and much more I would not pay anything more then low 20s tbh

He said they're selling to get an SUV but that could always be BS so yeah I think I'm just gonna pass on this one sadly. I just hope I'm not waiting for like 6 months or something.
If you can I would advise to go check dealerships out at the end of years when they have old new stock they need to get rid of.

Had an audi a6 prestige before which also was a pretty sweet car. I stay on the lookout for an occasional rs5 or even the rs6 as only a hand few are in the states

Great advice everyone! I am checking out the 2019 GT2s as well but those seem out of my budget. I'd love a CPO 2018 or 2019 but don't know how realistic it is to get either of those in ceramic/red for around $35k with less than 15k miles.
I could get a ceramic/black CPO 2019 GT2 for $38k (prob closer to $43k OTD) and 28k miles that's closer to me up here but again, maybe that's just a fine deal and I should wait for something better?

I feel ya man, I'm up in the PNW as well and having a hard time finding anything and it seems like we're looking for similar cars. It's weird seeing a lot of 2018s priced similarly to 2019 GT2s CPO'd or not.

Anyone have any thoughts on why or what would be a reasonable price for these? Assuming around 15k-20k miles:
Car
Price
2018 GT2 - 20k miles - 1 owner
2018 GT2 - 20k miles - 1 owner - CPO
2019 GT2 - 20k miles - 1 owner
2019 GT2 - 20k miles - 1 owner - CPO

I would also love to see what good prices for those would be. I haven't been looking at Stingers for too long but long enough to know that prices for used/CPO seem too high overall but I just want to be ready for one around me to show up around a good price, just not sure what that is.

yeah its spring and we are in a sellers market. Used sports car prices are going to be high for a while.

I would not get a regular used Kia at 50k miles because you're only 10k miles away from it being 100% out of warranty. To me, its too expensive of a car to have to worry about big repairs.

Yeah just so you know - you're looking at 40k minimum for a 2019 Gt2 AWD right now. Used prices are absolutely stupid.

I was just offered an INSANE price by an online dealer for my RWD 2019 GT2. It is just too good to pass up.

I think that getting what you paid for it a whole year and thousands of miles later is insane. Is your deal better than that?

Here's the thing: if someone waved cash at me equal to what I paid three years ago, I'd still say no; because I want this car. If I found myself in possession of a car that was worth more than what I paid for it, I'd simply wait, because I want this car. I'm trying to rethink what it is about THIS car that makes me want to keep it: absolutely no issues in over three years tops the list: and everything I wanted what I bought it for still applies: I don't want anything else: so why would I go looking for something that I already have?

In my case I wanted the AWD Panthera GT2 with the Red interior when I bought my RWD Panthera GT2 with the white interior. They didn’t make the GT2 Panthera cars with Red interiors back then so I took the RWD with white instead. The terms were just too good to pass up on then.

Fast forward to now. I regret buying RWD. It is just too dangerous to drive at the limit. I have a SIGNIFICANT amount of equity in the car after rolling in $6,000 and putting nothing down after only 18 months of paying $668 a month. That is simply unheard of.

I don’t want to drive around a car with significant equity at risk especially when RWD is so unpredictable.

I can remove that equity from the car, get AWD with red interior in a brand new car, and keep the same payment. I would be a fool not to jump on this right now.

I am shopping around for a Stinger right now and looked at this car in person. It had a quite a few exterior cosmetic issues (scrapes on front bumper, side skirt, every wheel was curbed pretty badly, the under engine panel had been torn, and more scrapes on the rear underbody, and it had the sunroof rattle issue. They didn't really make much of an effort to clean it up either. In addition to that they basically wouldn't work with me until I went in person. They discounted the price but not enough for me. Not worth traveling across the country for IMO.

It does seem like prices are generally quite high right now though.

Welcome. It doesn't happen often (can't think of another example, actually) where someone says they are wondering about a car states away, and someone else (you in this case) gives them an in-person description of the same car. That's pretty cool as a first post.

That vehicle does not sound inviting, to say the least. It takes real talent to mark up a car that badly, rash all four wheels and tear up undercarriage panels. o_O
