Morning,

I just picked up my new GT-Line AWD two days ago, yesterday a strong sulfur odor surfaced. It's very present when I turn on the heat, so much I have to drive with window down. I purchased from dealer 300 miles away, though have dealers close by. Wondering if this is part of engine breaking-in? I currently have about 400 miles.

Thanks

Wonder if a furry animal is dead in the cabin filter area. It's easy to access, worth checking.

I'll try, prefer not visiting Dealer if possible.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I could be wrong, but isn’t there a coating that has to burn off of the catalytic converter?
My first thought, it smells like a cat converter. No codes, well not yet.

Yeah. Some vehicles exhibit a stronger smell as they break in. That's my first guess. A dead rodent would not smell like sulfur (rotten eggs).

Welcome to the forum. :)

I had the same smell for the first few months, especially after spirited driving and parking in the garage. It’s the engine coating they apply I believe.

could be a piece of plastic that got caught on the exhaust or under the hood by the turbos.

Surely sounds it's part of breaking-in, as you and others have mentioned. A few months though? That kinda sucks. Though I'm going to take a look around when the rain stops.

Have to say I love having the 4 turbo, I could probably step in the engine bay like my old Corvette, lol.

Thanks!

I mean it’s just a smell, I bought mine in spring so the following months were hot summer days which seemed to make it more noticeable.
