I'm the proud new owner of a 2020 Stinger GT, which took a few things falling into place to make happen. It started with my daughter's 2004 Pacifica and the multitude of electrical issues it had. I'd spent hours redoing grounds throughout the car and finally had it running smoothly, then the PCM (possibly...who knows) went out. When the bolts holding the PCM on the car snapped off, I gave up and told my wife I'm scrapping it. I had been driving a 2011 Optima I bought used in 2012 with 14,000 miles on it. A couple years ago at 189,000 miles the engine called it quits. I was looking at new cars when my wife decided to call a local Kia dealer, who told her to tow it in and they would look at it. Kia said the motor went out due to the engine recall and replaced it for free. The engine has a lifetime warranty as long as I own it. Again, I bought it used. It is now my daughter's daily driver.
So, when I decided to start looking for a new car my immediate choice was an Optima. Obviously, one does not peruse the Kia site without looking at the Stingers, which I did, and just for the fun of it I priced out a Stinger GT. When I told my wife about the Stinger and what our payments would be she didn't say anything. I took that to mean, "go ahead and buy one," so I started looking in earnest. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted around where I live, which was a Stinger GT RWD in white or Ceramic Silver (which I believe to be a GT1 or GT2 only option. I may be wrong). It just so happened we were going to Panama City Beach on vacation the next week and my wife suggested I look down there. I found this about 20min from where we were staying and picked it up when I got down there. I can't wait to get started on upgrades.
