My husband was driving the car home today (we just got the GT2 last night) and a guy asked him to roll down his window at a stop light to ask what kind of car it was!

Yes! It’s happened to me, I had a state trooper pull up beside me and ask me to lower my window... I thought I was in trouble lol.. instead he asked what car it was!

Happens me at least once a week. Next time you go to a restaurant or a shop. Park within viewing distance of their window. And get ready to watch as people circle your car in delight.
I have a dash cam. Maybe I should do that. I was at a diner tonight. And some cops pulled up and they were just circling my car and looking at each other with the I don't know shrug. Lol

They don’t just stare, they also talk amongst themselves & point, some even ask questions.
Pulled into a small country town on Tuesday & an old geezer sitting outside the store says to me in a loud authoritive voice “What sort of car is that” I said it’s a Stinger, he says “I know that, I can read you know”.......lol. I then proceeded to explain to him it was a Kia...funny old bloke, but he was impressed.

Welcome to the forum and the Stinger HIVE! Congrats on your GT2 and get used to the stares. I have someone stop me to ask questions or take pictures of my Stinger ever week. It’s a great feeling and love people’s expressions when they learn it’s not a Maserati but a Kia!Enjoy and happy motoring.
Yes, I'm afraid I'm going to cause a wreck when people look at it. I've been paced by more than a couple of Mustangs and Camaros. Mine doesn't have the round KIA badge on the back, just the big Korean "Stinger" chrome, so they have to get in front to see the KIA hood badge. And getting in front of mine has been a bit difficult for some reason -- unless it's parked.

I had some kid riding a bicycle yesterday and my Stinger was in the garage and as the kid goes by he yells out - "I love your car"... I said thanks.. he was probably 12 or so.
Stopped in for fuel yesterday. Had three people walk up and ask about it. One guy driving out stopped and asked "Is it quick?" I told him "You might say that..." He said "Got to take it to the track." (Sorry, didn't buy it for that.)
I know I am on some mustang guys video somewhere. Girlfriend didn't believe me on the attention this car gets until she saw the guy keeping pace with me recording the car down the interstate.
Welcome to the hive. Congratulations on your stinger. Had one of my servers show me a series of videos of her bf pacing this yellow stinger and the passenger was hitting on the driver, who then floored it and zoomed off into the distance with them trying to catch up.Proceeded to tell her that a) that's my wife b) for her bf to pay attention while driving cause he was veering too close. Then walked her to front of restaurant to show her stinger parked out front. Her bf now wants to be my best friend.
I work at a therapy clinic that's part of a pretty big hospital, our clinic is on the first floor lined with huge 1 way windows all the way around, I park right in front so I can stare at my car all day and we all get kicks out of how many people just walk by and stare or stop and check it out.
One of the surgeons there drives a blacked out range rover, we saw him leaving one day, he slammed on his breaks backed up and literally drove circles around my car lol.
Mind you I have the korean E badge on the front and the Stinger script on the back, so alot of people are probably confused by what it is... feelsgoodman

I was sitting near my car smoking. When a couple walks by and he goes "it's just a kia" "they rebadged it but it's a kia". Looks like people are starting to recognize stingers. Whatever ads they are running must be working. But I still can't understand the stigma against the brand. I personally rebadged to keep it OEM like in their domestic market.
