Parking sensors (car icon in digital dash)

4. Sensors will turn off once a certain speed is reached. To activate again, either need to hit the button or engage reverse.
Not so. You push the sensors ON button on the center console and it stays lit. When you shut down that selection remains. When you start up again the ON button will be lit. The sensors are active up to 11.something MPH.
I guess this behavior is to avoid annoying noise warnings when pulling close to cars in traffic - I just prefer a visible indicator when I'm close to stuff that I know is active all the time and I don't have to remember to press a button.
In my opinion, you should never pull close enough to another vehicle to even be in the green band.

If that's the case mine isn't working correctly. If I turn on the sensors manually and shut down the car, the light is not lit when I start up again. It doesn't even stay on during the same journey. I've tested it by turning it on manually, driving somewhere and pulling close to an object - light remains off and no front sensors.

I don't but had assumed that may be why they turned off automatically after a certain speed was reached.

The parking sensor behaviour just seems a bit unintuitive and can't trust it when pulling in to tight spaces. I've made it a habit now to press the button and make sure the light comes on prior to parking.

Neither Stinger does what you describe. I have a 2018 and 2019 with identical parking sensors features. The ON button remains that way on startup if I leave it ON. But if you can engage the front sensors by manually pushing the button to get the light, then this is no more than a glitch, a bit like having to remember to turn the ISG OFF each time you start up, annoying but workable.

Yeah I'm getting used to just using the button now. Just wondered if I'd missed a setting somewhere as it's so random, need to really make sure I've pressed the button and the light is on before pulling up close to walls etc.

Managed to find a discussion on here from 2019 - my issue is exactly the same as Roland was having (maybe it only affects certain year/models/regional variants: Front Parking Sensors
