Panthera Metal Window Tint

Are there any Panthera Metal owners with pictures of their tinting to share? I'm killing the time waiting for mine by making a wish list and am curious what the different percentages look like on this colour.

Just picked up this 2022 GT1 RWD over the weekend. So far so good. Any recommendations on best window tint % /brand for Panthera Metal. I’m in S. Carolina so can go pretty dark. Thanks

OP, hope you'll indulge my related question on this thread. I also have a panthera metal--red interior in my case, and base GT without a sunroof--and am about to go for tint, also looking for input.

I'm leaning toward 33% on the sides and back. I usually get 17%, but the film I am likely getting performs almost identically using either of these two VLT levels (the dark film has TSER 55%, while the medium film has TSER 53%). These numbers are essentially on par with most entry level ceramic films, and in my experience, they feel like it in the real world. The next tier of ceramics are several hundred dollars more expensive.

If I understand correctly, the factory glass is 70%, so the cumulative effect of the 70% glass with the 33% film should net a VLT level around 23%.

Anyone want to talk me out of the 33%? I got this film on my first Stinger and was happy with it, but that car was white with a black interior, both of which tend to make tint look darker.

Thanks in advance.

30% all around. I wanted 20% like my older vehicles but after getting pulled over for tint only, I went safer since the Stinger does attract attention.

Bloody hell mate, how did you get yours so glossy? Dip it in liquid diamond or something?

When clean and corrected, panthera is kinda like black. Very shiny and reflective. It's also just about the same level of pain in the butt to keep. Currently, it's covered in Oak tree semen (catkins) and Oak tree sperm (pollen).

Can I hijack this thread a tiny bit (since it is color specific...).

I assume your wheels are powder coated? Is that gloss black, or the same color as the car?

They are not powder coated. They are Advanti Decado in anthracite metallic (standard color), though they do match pretty well.

OP, not sure if you already decided on a film but thought I would add this here. This is Suntek 34% ceramic tint, with setting suntint301.webp and fewer reflections going on. For reference, my car has the red interior and the windshield sunshade was up. To my eyes, this film has a slight blue hue to it. For what it's worth, it is extremely effective in blocking heat. Hope this helps, whether for you or folks finding your thread in the future.

Here is 30 all the way around in fairly bright sunlight. (nothing on the windshield). It is still plenty dark. Also took care of the PPF at the same time. Wheels are on order, and sequential LED rear lights are somewhere between Korea and here.

Does anyone know if it's possible to install tint without removing the door, tailgate panels?

To the best of my knowledge they never remove panels to install tint, all the pieces are custom cut from a computer system before installing them

Never heard of any panels having to be removed when doing tint on a car.

As the others have said, it's unusual for tint installers to remove panels. The good ones will drape protection over the panels (and wedge in a microfiber rope at the base of the windshield if tinting that) to prevent intrusion from all the slip solution they will be using.

Having said that, the one panel I wish I had thought to remove is the top trim around the hatch glass in order to remove the top mount brake light. This would have allowed the installers to do the entire glass instead of having to go around that brake light. That would look awesome. Not sure if it's legal though.

Edit: also wanted to point out that some installers prefer to hand cut to get the smallest micro edge possible. I've seen very reputable installers on either side of that, so it's possible to get a top quality job done whether it's hand cut or computer cut.

You usually never have to remove anything for tint outside of the seals at the bottom. Lay on outside get it cut to length n the needed arch. Then apply inside, roll the window down get the top edge perfect n then window up and squeeze the film to the window. Use soapy water also. Finally use rags to absorb excess liquid. If your scared of liquid damage, use distelled water.
