Painted my rear badges Flat Black

Totally AGREE !. But I like the challange of finding what to treat the surface with prior to painting ( I'm not wanting to do anything that involves the tape )
You'd probably have to place a large piece of double sided tape on the back of the emblem and then use a razor blade to cut around the lettering. That will be challenging unless you're really patient.

I'm hoping to find a method that doesnt compromise the oem tape . There has to be a bullet proof primer for these . I know I've used special metal primer on metal garage doors to allow paint adhesion.................needs to be something vs stripping the chrome .

I really want a matte black Stinger logo on the back of my car!

We've got the Stinger letterings in stock and I can whip one up in matte black anytime. Would you be interested in purchasing one at a discount? We'd need installed pictures for the website and I'd love to feature your car in that listing.

Just so you know, when we started offering custom badges and emblems back in like 2010, it took several months and a couple thousand dollars to get the correct process done. There are chemicals involved and a prop process for the surface. Just based on feedback from tons of customers and my own personal experience during our own testing phase, this really isn't an ideal thing to champion on the DIY front. Maybe if this was a 1990's-era Civic, then sure--but this is a beautiful brand new car! Keep that thing looking top notch!

Yeah, that'd be cool. I probably won't actually swap badges until spring though (when I also plan on doing a ceramic coating).

Also would you advise installing before or after ceramic coating the car?

Hey @ImportSharkMike,

Would you be interested in painting my hood vents to match silky silver?? If I can figure out how to remove them. Lol. Thanks.

These are officially tested and ready to go. Available for purchase here:
Customized KDM Stinger Lettering, importshark.com

Also would you advise installing before or after ceramic coating the car?
Definitely after if possible.

Sure, we can do that. I'd imagine it would be like $50-$80 to paint match to the OEM color. If that's in your expected budget, please inbox me.

would you still be willing to offer a discount for perpetual rights to use my car images for commercial use? have a black gt1, it'll be undergoing paint correction (dealer cleanup led to light swirls), full front paint protection and ceramic coating (everything except front) this week. I'd like to install the matte black lettering and will be having it professionally installed.

also, how quickly can you ship the item to TX?

Well I’d definitely do what I can for forum members price-wise. The biggest problem is that there is virtually ZERO wiggle room on the KDM badges, which is why I have an acute hatred for EBay sellers who have already ruined the market. Additionally, we don’t mark up the customization aside from a few bucks to cover PayPal/card fees. Because of that, there’s very little in terms of a discount but I can certainly look into the numbers for you. I’ll inbox you.

I've got a stinger logo sitting in my Amazon cart with 2 day (Monday) delivery w/ Prime for twenty one $ shipped, it is, however, in the chrome color rather than matte. While I understand you're running a business there's hopefully a bit of wiggle room, especially considering commercial image rights license for a black/black application use-case that would be included.

How fast would you be able to get the item to Tx? I'd like to get the badge into my detailers hands quick. Will be on the look out for the Pm; ty for the speedy reply.

I can easily match or beat the Amazon price and delivery time for that. ;) Our website price should be lower anyway for the regular 2-4 day delivery time. Also, keep in mind that if you’re looking at an Amazon item that qualifies for Prime (and their 2-day delivery), that’s the ETA after departure. There’s no guarantee the item is physically at one of the Amazon fulfillment warehouses ready to depart immediately. Somethings they have to get the item or transfer from one center to another where it will be 2-days to the final destination.

That's inaccurate. Amazon Prime's 2 day shipping is just that--two (business) days. Of you buy from Amazon Prime with 2 day delivery on Monday morning you will have your package by Wednesday night.

I made a mind boggling 174 purchases on Amazon last year. I know their shipping times intimately.

What I posted above came from multiple sources. In fact t I just saw someone today on Facebook complaining about the same exact thing. (I’ll see about getting screenshots later on when I’m at a PC). I’m sure it’s not the case with every Amazon purchase.

if you give him a $20 discount and you lose $20 on the deal wouldn't you think that's a good deal for ownership of the image? there's really no wrong answer i'm just curious how you feel.

It all comes down to how badly I need the images. For a product like this, it’s not that important since I could always Photoshop the chrome badge so it’s black. (A product that’s more expensive with higher demand increases the value of good product images). Of course, end user photos are highly preferred and often useful. It’s just really unfortunate how the market already has ridiculous low-balling going on, so that’s a huge roadblock. I’m also in the process of buying my own Stinger, so I should have that soon enough. It’s just been real tough since my area hasn’t gotten much inventory from Kia at all.

ImportShark, for the gloss black Stinger logo you linked above, Customized KDM Stinger Lettering, importshark.com, it is difficult to tell if this is like the smaller logo that comes on the trunk lid from the factory, or the larger stinger logo that everyone is replacing the center "KIA" logo with.

I also would love a gloss black Stinger badge to replace the center Kia badge.
