Paint scratching away - driver side door jam

Hello,

So I’m not sure how long this has been happening but I know it’s pretty recent. The last time I did a deep clean which was in December, I didn’t notice this.

But lately I’ve been hearing like a weird “sticking” noise when I open the door. Didn’t think anything of it.

Then randomly I just happen to notice this paint scratched off there in the door jam. It’s not rough or anything. Is it a gasket failing? Anyone else have this issue?

I may make a mention this next Wednesday at the dealer and see what they recommend.

your door seal gasket looks fine. that looks like a very heavy rub by something, the paint is worn away. very strange that whatever it is could take paint off and get past the door seal without leaving a mark.

it is likely the door frame making contact. I can't see how a person would make those scratches and not shred the seals.

Should be able to see what's contacting as you close the door from the outside. Maybe take a few pictures of the last inch of travel?

paint should be missing from the opposite, matching surface.
