Paint Issue Video

Well, a warranty repaint would likely fix the issue, especially on the hood now that they (apparently) have figured out what was wrong.

What was the root problem? Is repaintig one part of many actually going to address it or just bandaid it?

The photos shown indicate a process problem which could mean it affects the entire paint system used. The issues popping up now could just be the start.

I occasionally inspect paint systems in the construction industry, and these flakes cause more concern than orange peel, runs, bad dft, etc..,

I'm a quality guy professionally so sometimes it's hard to turn off lol.

A lot of the new info can be found on the Kia Stinger Owner's Group on Facebook. One person there goes into great detail on the repainting process. The root problem was apparently the process they used to bond the paint to the aluminum parts of the body, a new thing for Kia. Stingers made after March supposedly don't have the problem.

I have two chip on passenger rear door. Everyone tell me is a door ding. Just look at it now. It seem like the paint is chipping. Will try to get photo tomorrow in the daylight.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
