Had to share this one, and no I did not have to pay it. $5889 (total) over MSRP.

Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Device.webp

Why did you block the name of the stealer?

Salesmen have got to make a living, not just sell cars. Can't blame them for trying. I'm sure it works out often enough for them to profit by those "addons", or they wouldn't keep doing it.

If a person wants to earn money they should do it honorably. And again, can’t be done with a W-2. Car dealers are criminals. I just wanted to earn enough money that I could afford all the rip offs in life.

Having enough money does decrease the angst of getting ripped off. It ceases to be a real concern, but may still remain a "crusade" because of the principle of the thing.

That's not even a real window sticker. Just some b.s. they had created to tape to the car.

Exactly, and it's far too common.

Me and my wife test drove on the order of 20 cars before buying her a new car in October. The only dealers that I remember doing this were Honda (Civic Type-R), Kia (2018 Stinger GT2) AND Hyundai (2018 Sonata Sport). I would say that it's a pattern for Hyundai Motor, but we also recently test drove a G70 Sport and it didn't have an add-on sticker that I could see. The Hyundai salesman (right as we were walking out) even went so far as to say that they use the add-ons to raise the price and just maybe someone will pay it not knowing better... and of course, I could get a better price.

Because I can!

And actually because the dealer did have that sticker on the car but at no time was that add-on price part of the buying process. In fact, the internet salesperson texted me the sale price 2 weeks before I got there, and that's effectively what I paid. Also, I got the listed "benefits" anyway... imagine that.

Charges of $3495 and they call it value package. It's criminal but of course it's just my humble opinion.

$3495 was the market value adjustment. I honestly have no idea what constitutes an APPEARANCE PKG at $899. Maybe I need to look closer for some goodies.

Somebody posted something similar a few months back, with a similar time of label. Notice the large print and graphics identifying the main part of the label as for 'Fuel Economy' and even the inclusion of a fake sliding 1-10 scale indicator - though nothing in that section contains any actual information, only vague directions that the information can be found elsewhere.

All so the add on label looks official at first glance to the consumer, and makes them skip over the paragraph underneath that tells you the label is NOT associated with KIA or any government requirement, and merely shows dealer add-on charges.

This kind of deliberately engineered fakery really pisses me off - obviously designed to mislead and misdirect, this is not-so-borderline fraudulent advertising, and should be reported as such to a regional or national consumer protection agency.

The Stinger is my first Kia.
Nov 2018, finally worked out a deal for my 2019 base GT. Sales guy said "ALL" the cars on their lot came pre-installed with an "Karr" branded alarm system, that they charged $799 for. The system will be activated during vehicle delivery. Take it or leave it

So even with the add on, they still had the lowest price. After signing all the paperwork, I'm in the delivery area waiting for my car, the finance guy comes out and said "Looks like they haven't gotten around to installing the alarm on your car yet, bring the car back next week, and we'll install it then".

For a few seconds, i thought about making a scene, demanding a lower price, or to void the sale. I jumped in the car, counted my blessing that they haven't messed up my wiring or installed a battery drainer. I never made the return appointment, and they will not get my future business either.
