Outlaw Horses (GTS)

Well, that was a surprise. :P Wincing even after it's over. All that DUST!? That isn't just crazy, it's crazystupid. Do it to your car, I won't mind.

I have no problem with the dust, in fact hooning the car like that looks like a blast. What I do have an issue with is the fact that they need the director of the commercial to drive a paddle-shifted car prior to filming. If so, at the 44 second mark, it wouldn't show the driver upshifting into 2nd from a dead stop. Sure, he may want to be starting in 2nd gear, but it's doubtful that's what they were trying to convey.

In fairness to Kia, they aren't the only party guilty of this faux pas. I've seen other ads where they show the driver upshifting and then cut to the tach to see the revs jump. Maybe downshifting just doesn't look cool, or it's tough to get a good shot because the driver's left hand is hidden between the steering wheel and the door. Either way, I don't like it. That being said, I'd take an orange GTS in a heartbeat.

With all the gravel, dirt, and dust flying, Federation Orange must be impervious to chipping. I'm all for improved paint quality.

I'm wondering how hard this Stinger has been driven. I played some of the upclose footage in slow motion and there are a few fitment issues, and paint mis-matching

They sure beat the snot out of it to make that video. And your screen shot looks like panel contrast issues too, but that is probably just a trick of the light.

Yeah... Metal versus plastic/fiber always shows horrid on camera. I bet IRL those are almost identical.

Personally I thought it was a crap commercial they could of done much better than that.

I thought it was odd they would take a car with "drift mode" and drift it in the dirt.
In all honesty an '80s Caprice wagon would have been able to do the stunts portrayed in this commercial. I can tell you that from personal experience.

Jim Rockford did it all the time, and his opponents were as often as not in Caprice sedans doing the exact same things in the dust.
