Oil light keeps coming on and off could this have anything to do with the PCV valve

I’m getting a lot of milky deposit in my catch can. My thoughts are that my PCV valve may be bad and causing pressure in the crank case. I do see some oil here and there. Oil light comes on when car is sitting still I say about 800 rpm’s then goes away when I step on it. After a spirited drive light oil light will stay off. Any suggestions maybe my oil pressure is low or maybe to high. Last night I checked the hose that’s going in to vacuum side of the PCV and it was loose.

I would say that milky residue in the OCC is not abnormal, since you may get both oil and water vapor condensate in there, and when you mix them together, you get milk.
Water vapor can be exacerbated in some climates.
Now, the oil light (I Assume it is oil pressure) is a concern, should have that checked. It could just be the sensor, but could also indicate excessive wear in bearings making it difficult to maintain pressure at low RPM's.

My thoughts as well:

Milky contents in catch can: Normal
Oil Light : NOT NORMAL

I have a catch can and I have never had an issue with it being milky.
I don't either, but I am in a dry climate. Wetter climates may see more vapor condensation. It all depends.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Oil light on is concerning.
What viscosity oil are you running?

How many miles you have on your car?

Is the oil level correct?
How many miles?
What weight oil?
When was the last oil change done?
How long has it been doing it?

Oil light started coming on right after my last oil change .. looks like the service department used 5w20. Im gonna get a service history sent to me .. how bad could 5w20 be

Manual calls for:
2.5t - 0W-30
3.3tt - 5w-30

5w-20 is a little thin. Not sure that would cause the light to come on, but getting to the correct viscosity might be a starting point.

Why would they use the incorrect oil? Did you specifically ask them to use that oil for some reason? Or was it just service department incompetence?

The oil pressure light on the dash can only be 1 of 2 things,

Low oil pressure, or a faulty sensor.

I wouldn't drive at all until this issue is diagnosed. Hopefully it's a faulty sensor.

i have the same issue! kia says they cannot get any code when i took for diagnostics, it’s been doing this for about 3 weeks, oil level is full, no leaks, last oil change was about a month ago and they used 5w30. to replace sensor they are telling me labor would run about $1000! i’ve never had any issues but this light sporadically coming on is very concerning. something is wrong but what??! i’m stunned that kia cannot give me an answer!

The sensor is under the intake, its kind of a job to get at.

I would have them check your oil filter, there have been a few that have had the incorrect filter installed (even at a dealer) causing the oil light to go off.

Incorrect filter at the dealer... Of all the things...
