The cartridge includes: 1) filter cartridge, 2) Large O-ring replacement, 3) New drain plug seal, 4 What looks like a push pin assembly ............does anyone know if this is simply to replace the one holding the access panel in place?
Yeah, it's a goofy design, with a cartridge filter "up side down" under the engine. That plug with an o-ring is for draining the oil from the cartridge housing cavity, before you unscrew it loose. This supposedly makes a little less of a mess. That cross pin retains the drain plug.
Made of finest chinesium. I don't know. I replace this once a year in the car. I buy oem only. Figure better safe than sorry and/or if I need to make a warranty claim. Given the crap amz is peddling lately (like those 2A rated fuses that blow at 8A), im not taking any chances .
Edit: This seller has the right name.. GetFarAway [from this garbage].
Yeah, I checked with most of the big chains like Advance Auto, etc., and none of them carry oil filter for this engine, I ended up buying 6 OEM filters from kia.parts. Worked out to about $9/filter. I should be good for a few yrs.
