I was told a couple years ago when I bought my first new sports car that at the 1,000 mile mark you should have a synthetic oil change. The reason being that the factory may/may not have put synthetic oil in it to begin with (can anyone confirm this for the Stinger?) and that it's just better for the overall performance to get it changed at the 1k mark.

I just hit 1k miles on mine and debating on getting it changed this weekend if this is all true.

Thanks!

personally, i would and have once i hit the 1000 mark. but, thats me.

I know some cars use break-in oil and you should have that changed early for the typical oil the car needs throughout the rest of it's life. If you have break-in oil, the dealer should have mentioned it to you...

It doesn’t use a specific break in oil but an early oil change is still recommended by some. The thought is that there’s still going to be some fine metal shavings as everything gets broken in. Granted the filter should pick everything up but for peace of mind you can do an early oil change and filter replacement. I personally did mine around 500 miles. Can’t say whether or not I needed to but I decided to just play it safe.

Changed mine at the dealers at 800kms. Had mineral oil from factory and was on a different oil/water temp. After changing to Shell fully synthetic, engine runs slightly warmer but smoother. Should definitely change the oil at this point, its part of the maintenance schedule.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
My car goes in on Monday. First synthetic oil change is covered by dealer at 3k and then every 5k after that. Knowing Kia dealers I’m sure everyone is on their own plan. Haha
