Hello all,

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or even found a solution to this problem? I recently installed the K8 aluminum paddle shifter extensions, and having the additional leverage on the crappy OEM plastic paddles only exacerbates this issue. I was hoping that by adding the extension, I would have additional range to activate the shifters from more grip positions on the steering wheel, but as it turns out, I still have to press directly into the middle of the paddle, which defeats the purpose of the extension entirely (aside from aesthetics I guess). Even with the extensions removed, the OEM paddles wiggle around.

The lack of response indicates that your problem is a rare one. I only recall one other "wiggly" shifters case and that was (I want to say) a couple of years ago. The issue wasn't resolved or reported on the forum, or if it was I missed it.

Same for me, I thought it was normal I suppose not though..

Hmm. I would say mine move a few millimeters in all directions with the slightest touch. Anyone know what is holding them to the column? Perhaps there is just a screw loose, but may have a press fit type with a guide pin like VW/Audi ones.

If the shifters are loose, they were once tight (like mine). Is your Stinger previously owned? Maybe paddle extensions caused undue stress on the OEM paddles and you've made an already existing issue worse. If they are held in place by a screw or screws then the fix should be easy for Kia to fix. If (as you posit) the paddles are pressed and pinned, then the looseness will be caused by the paddles being cracked. That's my guess. (When paddle extenders were first revealed, my initial reaction was exactly this issue: they would cause the OEM paddles to fail.)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I wait with bated breath for the information. :)

Same. Mine have been loose since day one. I just assumed since we didn't get wifi they gave us Morse code
