I like this statement...
"We needed a car capable of operating at reasonably high speeds in temperatures of 45 degrees in the shade without missing a beat. The Stinger showed itself to be that car."
Perhaps they are yet to discover how hot the engine bay gets.

I've felt the heat radiating out of the engine bay on a hot summer day, but at best we might reach mid 30s on a singularly hot occasion - I'm sure that's pretty pale compared to the temps you guys see in the summer.

But provided KIA engineered the car properly, it should take the heat in stride, and you'd think that was a big part of the police department evaluation. I haven't heard any reports of heat related failures - have you?

I too am not aware of any issues and agree the car has been engineered to withstand high temperatures, but driving conditions and ambient temperatures in that part of AUS are entirely different to what we experience in suburbia. Time will tell.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Why aren’t police buying this car?
Our Badge snobby Vic police obviously haven't taken any notice of the cars pulled over with hazard lights flashing... a lot seem to be Bemer's, yep, their not paying for servicing and parts, we the tax payers are of course. The Stinger's used interstate are stock aren't they ? I know the police have to have them fitted out with their lights and screens etc but I read they were basically stock, I wonder if the Bemer's are stock or had to be modded for the hwy patrol ?

I believe the Stingers are “standard” but I cannot say for the BMW but I believe would also be stock as the Police flip their cars pretty quickly so once out of service off with lights & decals etc. then to auction for the public.
