I decided to bleed/flush my non-Brembo brakes today because the car was built two years ago.

Manual says brake fluid capacity is 0.42 quart (395 ml) of DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. I bought two 32oz (1qt) bottles of Walmart Super Tech DOT 4 brake fluid at about $6 per bottle. I ended up using about 1qt to flush.

I used the Motive brake bleeder model 0107 for Ford/Asian cars. The 0107 Motive adapter will fit onto the brake fluid reservoir. Make sure you use the thinner o-ring that comes with the 0107 adapter. Old school pump and bleed will work too. Some notes:
  • Front and rear wheels needed to be removed before I could access the bleeder valves.
  • KGIS says bleed order for non-Brembo brakes is Rear Right / Front Left / Rear Left / Front Right.
  • The brake bleeder valve nut size is 10mm front and rear.
  • A 1/4th inch inner dimension (ID) tube will fit over the bleeder valve front and rear.
Two year old brake fluid had slightly darker amber color than new fluid.

KGIS calls for bleeding the electronic stability control (ESC) unit by activating the ESC/ABS pump with KDS. Since I don't have KDS, I didn't bleed the ESC/ABS unit.

Nice.

great write up

curious as to why the wallymart brand opposed to more <ahem> reputable brands for the fluid?

Availability and price. My car is a daily driver and I don't need racing brake fluid. Bobistheoilguy website indicates that Super Tech brake fluid is not too bad. No reported issues.

I paid for a week of access to the Genesis Service website. It doesn't show a different bleed sequence for Brembo vs Standards on the G70 or G80. Can anyone confirm if the Stinger Brembo sequence is different?

I do not agree with the bleeding order - is this straight from Kia? Typically, you want to bleed first the caliper furthest away from the master cylinder and work you way thru the next closest until completed. Also, keep in mind Brembo brakes have two bleeders; one inner and one outer.

Can the OP update accordingly to reflect this? This was my first go-to earlier today when I was running into bleeding problems with my GT’s Brembos. Knowing there was two bleeders per caliper would have saved me a tremendous amount of pain and suffering.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
To the OP, what psi did you pump up the motive tool to? The reservoir seemed beefy enough to handle this?

I have the 0107 left from the previous car where I'd typically pump up to 15 psi then open bleeders.

I also pumped the motive bleeder to about 15psi.

Oh I found this bluetooth OBD2 app that claims that it can run the Stinger's ABS pump. I haven't tried it. Kinda of afraid it may blow up the ABS pump.

<Shrug> I'm not sure what the maintenance manual calls for but generally I flush brakes every 2 years. Car is a week and a half old right now :) Just getting things ready ahead of time.
