I often get a thumping noise from the rear of the car on start up. Is this normal? I don’t remember it when I first got the car.

I also hear a similar sound when I turn sometimes. Right when I am turning and finish the turn if I accelerate too hard. Like a faint popping or thumping sound definitely from the rear outside the car. Did I damage something in the rear with my hard acceleration and occasional sliding on turns? I have added more power with the JB4. I will let the dealer look at it at next service.

So many possibilities. I don't think that anything is broken. Last summer when I accelerated while turning out of a parking lot there was a palpable "thump" from the front. I think that the ECS gets into play when making those kinds of demands, resulting in "noises."

You may be on to something. I did take the spare and everything out of the trunk several times to disconnect the negative battery terminal. To reset the ecu for jb4 tuning problems. Maybe I didn’t put something back the way it was.
