No manual transmission - deal breaker for some?

Obviously that is what the data shows. I think we have all been agreeing on that the whole time. Doesn't change the frustration though.

I'm not sure why you put buyers in all caps. I assure you my cars didn't spontaneously materialize in my driveway. I purchased them. I even bought them new .

I was emphasizing buyers as a whole. Enthusiasts like us are such a tiny piece of the big picture for an automobile manufacturer.

That is definitely true! Sorry I took offence.

Not a deal-breaker but I'd choose the manual if they offered it. The Stinger auto doesn't seem to be garnering rave reviews.

Not a terribly big deal breaker .. especially since this is more of a GT car than a track car .. I'd still prefer a MT.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Its really hard to be upset when the auto transmission is rated for around 900trq.

Then Kia best offer a model that can actually use more of that potential. I'd still prefer a quality stick for the FUN to drive factor.

I'm highly confident they will. I mean - why not? As long as the Stinger sells well - I'm sure there will be a higher performance variant. Which brand wouldn't like to have a halo car with BMW M5 type performance? I think Kia has that kind of mindset...

The owner of the Vehicle and Tork Motorsports, he did endless research before he bought the vehicle. Ill see if I can get a direct link for everyone

Need manual. With the performance hype and SEMA exhibitions a car like this needs a manual. Unless you're a drag racer a auto is just boring

What I'm more curious about is if anyone did find the lack of a manual a dealbreaker, what new car would they then go purchase? Stinger has little competition in its price/size as it is.

That's a great question and I don't think there's a good answer for it. Do the Audi Sportbacks have a manual option? Do the BMW Gran Coupes have a manual option? I don't even think you can get a manual in the M5 anymore. You can still get one in the Honda Accord but I don't think that's about "performance"...

The only thing close you could get with a stick is the mustang. Not direct competition, but probably the closest with a manual.

My real question is who would really even buy the manual if it was available. It seems like all new cars that have the option the automatic is faster than the stick. So who could honestly say they would get the stick if it got to 60 in say 5.2 instead of 4.7?
I would like to think I want a stick but every time I consider I think that the amount of time I would have a blast mowing through the gears would pale in comparison to the amount of time I would be cursing the manual while I am stuck in traffic shifting between first and neutral every 5 seconds for an hour at a time..
IMO the stinger is not a track car that needs a stick, it's a fast GT and the automatic is really what the car deserves to have.

I agree 100% but there are some people who refuse to believe the automatics today are faster than stick. They make up every excuse you can think of to try and prove it's not true. I understand the desire to run through the gears but it's just about time to find a new hobby if you want a new high performance family car...
