Well here in Virginia we went from warm to chilly pretty quickly this year. My son drove my Stinger last night and told me the heat wasn't working. I told him he wasn't adjusting the system properly and went to bed. This morning frost was on the grass and while driving to work - noticed my heat wasn't blowing hot. Ice cold like the outside air. I took it in for service. It's been there all day so far and the mechanic hasn't figured it out yet. The Kia service manager told me he has the dash apart... at this point I start feeling sick... he said they have been talking with Kia repair specialists but still no fix.

I didn't realize it was an issue since the temps have been pretty warm and the AC works great. It was probably screwed up at the factory.

Has anyone else had this issue? You might want to turn your heat on just to check...

Luckily my heated seats and steering wheel helped...

God - I hope they get this fixed with no parts being ordered of I'll be without my baby all weekend and there better be no trace of evidence from the work they are doing... The car is only a little over a month old...

urge them to check the BLEND DOOR

Well, that just stinks. I've noticed my heat and AC working in tandem on days when it is warm enough inside the cabin to trigger the AC, and then cool enough to need it warmer. "Auto" is the only setting I've used and nothing wrong or suspicious has occurred so far.

May your service people discover a little, "doodle" software interface issue that requires no parts! Amen.

They have sent Kia Engineers to the dealership to diagnose the issue. The service guy said they took coolant samples and sent them off for testing... I guess there is a method to their madness? Being without my baby all weekend sucks big time - the fact they are molesting my baby really makes me uncomfortable. Am I going to have rattles now? The car only has about 3500 miles on it... UGH!

Tell them to reach into the backseat and change the temperature from cold to hot on those vents.

They operate independently of the front climate control and will blow ice cold air when the front is blowing warm. They will also blow hot when the front is blowing cold.

Did they check for air pockets in the coolant? Blend door is also a possibility.

Sounds like they are making more of it than it needs.

All I’ll say is my Stinger is still in the shop.

This. We had a cold snap last Friday 40 and rain and the back of neck was getting blasted by cold air, like the back window was down. Finally figured out had to adjust the rear temp.

Keep us posted on the result from the dealership, so we all can learn from this horrible experience should one of the members run into the same situation.

It got chilly down here in Florida the other day. I bumped the cabin temp up to 76 degrees. Now, I smell antifreeze. I am guessing the heater core is bad?

I'm working with Kia Consumer Affairs right now currently. This is no day at the beach.

Is the heat working in the back seat?

The issue is with the heater core.

I still don't have my Stinger back from Kia Service... In 5 days it will have been a month and I will ask for a new car.

Wow. Completely unacceptable.

I was supposed to get my car back today, but now they are dropping the engine to get to the turbos. I will explain once I have a solution from Kia. This situation is not "cool".

weird... do they have any clue what they are doing there?

Have they atleast given you a replacement car? Even an Optima? I get the fact that this isn't a Bavarian, but it's their first 'performance' car and certainly not a cheap one either....

OK - Folks - Here's what happened, and I hope this only happened to my Stinger. My heat wasn't working because my heater core was full of sand from the block casting process. Kia kept my car for 30 days - basically doing an autopsy on it... They finally agreed to give me a new car. Now I have a GT2 HiChroma Red with Black interior, same exact car, different color. My wife really liked the Micro Blue, but the red is hot! Mine was the first instance of this and hopefully it was the only one. They will be putting a new engine (most likely a 2019 engine) in my old Stinger and selling it at auction. I'd love to buy my old one too for the right price and have a blue and a red Stinger. :) That would be opulent!
