Thanks all for your contributions, I've learned a ton here and it's helped confirm this will be my next car. I was lusting after an ATS-V until I joined the forums and realized it wasn't a good fit (out of warranty) for me.

Ah, well I'm not sure it's replacing it yet, I have a hard time giving up a manual transmission, but I'm coming from a 350Z. I just updated my profile as well.
A big electronic welcome, HM! Please ask any questions about Stingers here. There is a lot of shared knowledge. I was looking at Stingers for almost a year prior to taking the plunge. And, I have owned too many vehicles -- most recently a Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD. I have owned American, Japanese, and German-made vehicles.
Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on choosing a very special new ride! The Stinger is definitely one of the most exciting cars out there and I hope you get to purchase yours soon. If you ever have any questions or if you are looking for any aftermarket parts you should check out our website www.K8StingerStore.com. We specialize in the Kia Stinger and are here to help you out with your car in any way possible.
I really appreciate all the warm welcomes, I'm impressed. I've had a ton of questions and found almost all of the answers in the various threads so far. I'm still trying to understand the available interior/exterior color combinations (rather, what is and isn't available). I wasn't able to find a consolidated thread on this so I started a discussion (unable to link as a newb apparently). thread ending is "color-combination-thread.18879"
I've made a detailed sheet on all (USA) options for each model (if there's an appetite I'll clean it up and share it if someone can tell me where it's best suited) and I've tested out a local dealer to see what current pricing should be.
Right now, here's what I'm targeting:
Model: GT1, AWD
Colors: I've only seen the Indigo Blue and white so far with brown and red respectively. I'm leaning towards the red but it doesn't appear it's available on all colors, especially the Panthera grey which was my first choice. Any help filling in those blanks would be appreciated. I like the Indigo, but want the active suspension, and haven't seen one in GT1 or 2 trims yet.
I'll check out the K8 Stinger store, I know emblems are on my list as a first item.
In the US, the special colors - Fed Orange/GTS and the Indigo Special Edition - are not available as "fully loaded" GT2s. I'm not sure why this is. They're kind of their own trim level with options mixed and matched from the GT1 and GT2. The red interior is only available on white, panthera grey, and maybe something else.
I also considered an ATS-V before I bought the Stinger, but I couldn't get over how terrible the interior looked for the price. The manual would have been nice and the LF4 obviously has substantially more power, but the Stinger won out for me over a used ATS.
Hah, funny to hear you came to similar conclusions on the ATS-V.
I've heard conflicting info on the panthera/red combo. In the other thread I mentioned, someone said that it was only available in the 2021 model.
I would have been happy with the indigo with the Sun and Sound package but for another ~2k you can get the active suspension and a few other perks. I drove both and the active suspension was pretty unremarkable, but I'm hoping it grows on me. CTS-V magnetic suspension is a high bar.
I've been lurking here for a while trying to get a sense where to ask whatever questions I haven't been able to find answers to (this site has been a fantastic resource and helped me avoid re-posting faq's).
To that end, I'm wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction. I'm now a little conflicted about what I will buy, it seems I need to make a choice of being able to break the rear loose or having adaptable suspension. Where should I pose this question?
Edit: seems like the three best options are:
car buying - which seems great for pricing info, but not technical
Suspension - probably best since it's difficult to add this option later (adaptable)
Drivetrain - if I get the GT1/2, I would probably add a LSD
