I purchased a 2020 Stinger GT1 in Snow White Pearl about a week ago. I am enjoying it very much, love the torque/hp ratio. I traded in my Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD for the Stinger. I had trouble at the first Kia dealership with rude sales people, but the second one was really good. My car is in the garage and I will post a picture soon.

Like to learn about the ins and outs of Stingers from more seasoned owners.

Welcome here from another newbie ^_^
Thanks, looking forward to reading and learning more from other Stinger enthusiasts. I must have done 8 months research prior to the purchase.

i’ve been lurking about this car first at the Montreal Salon de l’auto on January 2019 o_O :D

Are there alternative cars you are considering? If not, pull the trigger.

Nah there wasn’t. Received my 2020 Aurora Black with red interior GT Limited 3 days ago, PURE LOVE!! Lol

Howdy. I was seduced by the Stinger promo book for four months, leading to a test drive and three days later purchase. :) Welcome to the forum.

Yes, I did some research on Stinger forum. This place fit the bill.

Congratulations on the new car and welcome to the forum. What made you decide to move on from the Q50, How do the two cars stack up?

Wow, that is a great question. I love(d) the Q50 RS 400. It was a sweet and fun ride. Truthfully, I have an issue with turnover of cars. I wish I could be filthy rich, so I could just own every car I was interested in. I have owned a Mustang GT, BMW535i, 1999 Porsche Carerra (was the most costly vehicle to maintain when I bought it in 2015 and subsequent years; also a rough and raw ride), among many others. My experience is that German cars are a fortune to own and maintain. BMW=Bring my wallet.

The Infiniti Q50 RS400 has more hp than the Stinger. The Q50 has a little less weight, it is more jumpy and a rougher ride that the Stinger. The steering on the Q50 is a little wacky, especially at higher speeds. And, even though it has 400 hp, it has a governor of 155 mph on it (as opposed to the 167 mph on the Stinger).

The Stinger and Q50 are compared a lot to each other, which generated my interest in the Stinger. Ironically, the Stinger drives more like a luxury vehicle and holds the road better than the Q50 (at both slower and faster speeds). I like the extra trunk room in the Stinger and it has better technology. IMO. I have yet to try the Launch Pad in the Stinger, which will be sooooo cool. One thing about the Q50 RS400 is that it has Hell Cat status; the hellcat status is only on the RS400. I wonder if the Stinger can do the same. I know the RS400 went 0-60 faster than a Stinger, based on reviews.

I imagine maintenance at a Kia dealership will never compare to the quality of an INFINITI dealership. INFINITI had issues with belts under warranty for me and a few other issues. But, the service was top notch.

What is the most intriguing thing about the Stinger is that it is a KIa. It gets rave reviews. Yet, they are underselling compared to other cars that cost significantly more, because of name brand. I like owning sleeper cars. A couple of things that disturb me about the Stinger. Small gas tank and fake hood ornament vents. Be much cooler to have real vents.

Just love cars. Could look at Car Porn all night.

Welcome to the club John!
Here’s first piece of advice;
Those wheels stick out further than they look. Use extreme caution making turns.
I’ve only tagged one of my rims on a curb while pulling out of a tight bank drive-through. So far only this one after a year and a half ownership. I feel pretty lucky. Others here have not been so fortunate!

I did that in a previous car and I was not drunk. I swear. I go slowly into the turn and then hit the gas. What an interesting comment. Thanks, my friend.
