so I just got and plugged in a JB4 with the Bluetooth. First issue is that I don’t seem to have exactly the right tool to open the board. Of all my various heads I do t have the right one. But I plugged it in without the Bluetooth to see impact. No boost whatsoever! And my engine light went on. Unplugged to go back to stock. Boost returned but engine light still on. One more thing my board case has a second set of wires running out of it with a couple long thin wires and I haven’t seen any video with a version like the one I have. HELP

Sounds like something is wrong then.. Maybe loose connection in enclosure or wire? Open it up and if you don't see any obvious issues email in some install photos so support can help you resolve it.

So this is the part I don’t see any install guidance for what is it? Where does it go? What are the two wires for?

Thank you for the caution. What is frustrating for anyone like me who doesn’t spend time under the hood is that the box arrived with not a shred of documentation. Must be a generational thing to expect paper. Lol. Will move more slowly and try to follow the pdf.

You make a valid point! Even a piece of paper with the link to the installation instructions would be beneficial to everyone.

We stopped including printed guides years ago. Just a waste of paper and they are always out of date anyway since the products evolve over time. There should be a paper in there that says "please download the installation guide on our website". It's right on the same page you ordered the product on.

I agree. Even if it’s not on paper, at least one definitive guide in one web location would be very helpful. I had the same issues and posted some questions while installing and setting up. Instruction from start to finish should not be an afterthought. ;)

I think what ends up happening is if a customer is new and following the threads, they run across some dead links for instructions that existed when the install guide was initially hosted here.

They also have to search for another set of instructions for the JB Connect and another set of instructions for the fuel wires. You would think, prior to ordering these components, people would do their research so they have everything they need but that’s not always the case and sometimes the install evolves.

I’m all down for keeping it one link as you’ve done with the N54 link, but in addition to that PDF it would be great to see subsequent sections that include the JB Connect instructions, directions for the fuel wires, and maybe even for the WMI kit.

Include a TOC at the beginning so users can skip directly to the part they need help with. When updates are done, the respective pages in the PDF can be swapped out and something as little as a “Last Revised on XX/XX/XXXX” would let users know they’re using the latest version.

If people are looking for an install guide from anywhere other than the product page I could see where they might get lost. The PDF install guide is posted along with the product on our website: Kia / Hyundai Turbo JB4 w/ Fuel Control Wires & Billet Enclosure

The box and a paper in the box say to visit our product page to download the install guide.

And then at the bottom of the install guide it links you here: Kia & Hyundai JB4 - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion

That is the dynamic thread with firmware, maps, use notes, etc. Firmware changes, notes change, so that has to be a dynamic thread. Certain optional aspects of the install like the JB4 mobile and fuel wires are best shown via a video which the install PDF references you to.

Of course there are always several ways to do things and I can appreciate someone wanting a PDF guide for everything especially if they don't yet realize how much more useful a video will be for something like the fuel wires. But I'm confused by the fact that some customers don't see to be finding the install guide in the first place?

Incase anyone’s is doing a search on here for the this answer (like I was earlier) it is a 7/64 head. Not a common size, usually included with more complete hex sets but not the standards included in most tool boxes. I was able to tap in a t15 torx though to get them off in a pinch.

What are these wires for?? Have not had time to read all the directions, but would be nice in advance to know what they are.

They are covered in the install guide. Fuel control wires.
