Hey all!

Some newbies questions for you all! First introducing me, I’m a complete newbie in turbos world, first V6 ever, first Kia, first modern AT8... LMAO dang newbie as hell!

I love to personalize my rides and a few things that I have in mind are the traditional catback and intake.

I love the INJEN air intake setup with the round pipes and I fell in love with the MBRP exhaust notes... too bad it on back order for 3 life from an enthusiast POV lol

My questions, do you have a newbie guide here on what to do, what to avoid, anything else to think of when you do something...

Like, right now, if I was to order a full catback and injen air intake, can I just pop it on and ride like OEM or can I screw the prog and have to get it tuned torun properly?

All advices are welcomed

Cat back & injen cai won't throw any programs it will add minimal gains of a few horse power perhaps 2-5hp? You'll have to tune to gain a lot more.

I drove around for a month or 2 before the tune, couldn't feel anything untl i got the Unichip. You will get noise though.

Any good pipes that don't add noise?

thanks for the input! I’ll do things slowly so just want to make sure I don’t throw anything south on this new ride lol

as for the noise, I want to wake it up a notch more than making it civic nation noisy, you know! Which is why the MBRP was my first choice, but the back order for so long might makes me consider something else, not sure yet which path I’ll be taking though!

install an oil catch can!

Useful on a stock programmation?
Yes. Useful on any direct injected engine. You'll be surprised how much oil it stops from entering your intake manifold and coating your valves

Installed these parts a few days ago:
Direct fit Mishimoto OCC - took 15min
Injen intakes sound and look good but I typically have to floor it to make some noise (probably drowned out quite a bit from borla catback and ark mids - burbles when downshifting, borderline too loud) - easy install took under 2 hours for intakes
Apparently quicksilver exhaust might be a good option for noise without being obnoxious.
Only drove a few hours with these mods before the JB4 but didn't notice any difference in performance. JB4 is very easy to install and is not that expensive. The car is noticeably faster at higher speeds.
HKS plugs gapped to 0.024 - make sure mechanic tightens all parts after finishing!

Looking at the BMS Zero Maintenance OCC. Just wondering how exactly does the oil drain back in to the engine?

Here's the list; good oil catch can, good intakes (ones that actually point to where the air is coming from), catback (stock sounds like a v6 Toyota, I got the Borla), if you get Borla or any other loud exhaust then exhaust tips that clamp on are needed for no drone. Then a tune or piggyback. Tune options are Tork or Pressurtech (tork is probably better) Piggyback options are jb4 and all the other clones of it (good spark plugs are needed with jb4)
The above should gain you a lot of power, it will be noticeable. If not satisfied then meth, intercooler kit, and some e85 will.
