New to the Stinger community, came from a Infiniti Q50 Red Sport

no, bought the Stinger, then sold the Q60 about a month or two later.
I'd there anything you really miss about the VR30? Cheers

Hello all! Coming from the Infiniti platform.... Excited to be part of this community and learn about this platform!
I traded my Red Sport 400 Infiniti Q50 for my current 2020 Kia Stinger GT1 back in August of 2020. I had the red color in my Infiniti. It was an awesome vehicle with a few problems. The belts seemed to be an issue on the car, as they were replaced. And, the car used to shake at higher speeds -- even after rotating the tires. I think the Kia Stinger is a superior car in almost every possible way to the RS400 Infiniti Q50. It is better looking (interior and exterior), drives smoother, and is more unique. I also consider the Stinger a sleeper car in the same vain as the Chevy SS was. In a few years, the Stinger will be discontinued like the SS.

I have read and seen some youtube videos regarding the brembo's on the car. Is it true the Stingers rotors warp in a short period of time and cause the steering wheel/car to shake when braking? I apologize if there are threads on it already on here so please excuse my ignorance!

My car shakes a little when braking gradually, but not when I have to brake hard. Never considered the brenbro brakes. Will google it!

no. the oem rotors are good. but north american pad material doesn't work for some drivers and leaves deposits on the rotors which causes the shuddering when braking. this can indeed happen within a few hundred miles, or take thousands, it just depends. the solution that works 99 percent of the time is aftermarket pads and resurface the rotors. you can avoid the resurfacing if you can rebed the oem pads first and everything gets smooth again. in that instance, put fresh aftermarket pads on right away and bed them in and the 'shudders' should be gone.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated and noted.

you can try "re-bedding" the brakes every so often to remove pad material deposited on the rotors ...

  • Perform 3-4 medium stops from 45mph. Slightly more aggressive than normal braking. You don't need to come to a complete stop for each pass. This brings the brake rotors up to temperature so they are not exposed to sudden thermal shock.
  • Make 8-10 aggressive stops from 60mph down to 15mph. For this set of semi-stops, you want to be firm and aggressive, but not to the point where ABS activates and the wheels lock up. It's important to note that you don't come to a complete stop but rather a semi-stop (~15mph). Accelerate back up to 60mph as soon as you slowed down to your semi-stop.
the hard part is finding a mostly empty stretch of road to do this, and NOT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP.

25,000 miles on my GT2.....no brake issues.

That's a good sign! Can I ask what year and did u end up buying it new? Any major dislikes? Cheers and thank you!
original stinger my18 bought brand new and as I've described the brakes were worn in by careful use but never bedded. second stinger a cpo returned lease and the first owner must brake like I do because the brakes feel exactly the same in both cars, in other words smooth.
