I purchased a 2018 GT2 in January of 2019. I drove a V8 Camaro and V8 mustang but liked it a lot better. What were you guys debating on buying instead of a stinger?

I personally was debating on a 2018 Mustang GT. But the Stinger won me over with more cargo capacity.

Nothing at all. I wasn't even thinking of buying a new car, or any car for that matter. I was slowly "resto-modding" (or resto-rodding, I wasn't sure which) my old Voyager (five on the floor): to keep myself from even going in the direction of buying anything. Then along comes the Stinger. Hah.

I was debating between a GT1 and GT2. There was no GT2 so GT1 won.

The now familiar siren song of "the test drive". I went all winter just reading about the Stinger. Did a test drive on the 23rd of March and bought mine on the 26th.

I have a feeling if you were researching it that long maybe deep down in your subconscious you knew you were going to get it you just had to go through the motions lol. A little taste before the full course

Currently in the same situation, watching every review, reading every article about it. Planning a test drive soon, but don't want to buy before June 2020, so that i could get some clarity if there are going to be any changes in 2021MY.

Welcome Drock. Congrats on your new Stinger. I was also thinking of a Mustang GT but 3 star rating, only 2 doors, Ford reliability and Ford Aust bad customer service turned me off. No regrets whatsoever in 8 months of ownership.

One dealer wouldn't let me test drive a mustang they only let buyers do it. I thought to myself its a mustang not a Ferrari and like teenagers get these cars all the time lol. So the dealer Kia told me that Kia has plans on cancelling the stinger in 2022. Not sure how true that is

Kia has "plans" to cancel any model, eventually. Of course it's true that the Stinger will be canceled. 2022? Nobody knows that, not even Kia Corporate. Yet.
