Been waiting since 2018 on the first release for a couple of changes to the Stinger before pulling the trigger - mostly interior changes like seats, shifter, and infotainment system and, now that those changes have come in...pulled the trigger. Was debating long and hard between the Stinger and the 2022 G70, but the Stinger won my heart. Graduated from an Optima SX Turbo, which I had a lot of fun in, but this is next level.

Expect to take delivery on the car in a couple of weeks (feels like an eternity), but have used this forum as a resource to help me learn about the platform and make my decision, so thank you all already for your contributions. On the fence still on what mods I may add because it's a lease, but will be adding an intake and some new spark plugs to complement for sure. Open to suggestions on other "lease-friendly" updates to make.

Look forward to being a part of the community and hopefully bringing some value of my own.

Welcome to the hive! My number one suggestion is front and rear sways bars, and in Canada you can get them from your dealer! (Prolly not the cheapest, but you won't get any arguments from them at the end of your lease)

Welcome! You should be really happy with your choice.

Did the shifter change?

Howdy and welcome. I don't understand modding anything on a lease that you are not going to keep. But, have fun regardless. :P

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! That's going to be a nice upgrader from the already nice Optima SX. I'm glad you found us! :)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

No, not really. I wasn’t a fan of the one that was on the 2.0L version (I think) originally. This one.

That’s why I’d keep them simple. Money I don’t mind spending for the couple of years I’ll have it. Won’t go into heavy modding unless I decide I’m going to keep it as a hobby car.

Welcome

Welcome home. I agree modding on a lease, however there’s no shortage of people on here willing to buy used in good shape.

Congrats. Technically we're a hive, not a cult. We serve the queen (Sal).

I would drive the car for a bit, discover the things you want that might be lacking. For me, the sound system ended up coming up short, especially over time as I played different albums/mixes. From a handling standpoint, since this is 90% my commuter car and not much else, it's way more competent than I probably even need (knowing this I also cross shopped the Mustang GT and yes even the G70, looking at mainly straight line performance). Stinger is quick and agile, but whether it's quick and/or agile enough for you will determine your mod path. Sway bars the obvious start to firm up cornering, and intakes for noise mostly unless you also get a tune. Exhaust is expensive and whether it increases power without a tune is probably debatable.

Agreed, it's a swarm or hive but definitely not a cult. Cults are bad, like the one in the US full of brain dead people who follow a failed reality TV host with a double digit IQ, and still believe he won an election even though he clearly got squashed.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely intend on waiting until after the break-in period before changing anything at all. I checked with the dealer I will be getting it serviced at and their service manager said he wouldn’t care about mods in terms of it affecting warranty. Simple things like air intakes and exhaust he’s fine with, but I’d have to remove a piggyback before servicing, if I added that on.

Welcome. What side of the country you on?
