Hello everyone, my name is Clint. I drive a micro blue 2018 stinger gt2. I have injen intakes, mbrp cat back, denso plugs with 8k miles on them, and just installed a jb4. I ran my first log today [map 1] and clueless how to read it, I would appreciate some feedback. One note but being honest I’m trying to run the rest of my 87 out of my system, then moving to E30 mix and map 4.

Ok Logging 101. The above is useless:(. Step 1, set your JB4 to automatically start logging at 75-80% throttle. Step 2, do WOT runs, start in 3rd gear push the pedal to the floor and hold it there thru 4th gear and into 5th and you’re good. At this point you will be going very fast so make sure you are in a safe place. That will give you a readable log. I wouldn’t do this with 87!!! Before you go to map 4 log a map1 then a map2 then a map3 before you even think about map4. And lastly…Stop putting 87 in your Stinger. Only a cheap fool would do that! In my humbled opinion of course. When you get a log post it here again. Cheers

Thank you very much for the feedback! I will follow this to the T. I’m done with 87 the second its gone, I figured I would get a bit of grief for running 87 but to get the best reads and answers I’d much rather be honest. I will be posting better results as soon as I get them.

Howdy and welcome. That's all. I don't mod the engine. :D I also don't use "regular" gasoline.

Not good. You are pulling to much timing. What fuel? Don’t go to map2 yet.

I had about a 1/10 of 87 left and filled the rest of tank with 93
Try resetting your ecu by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and do another map1. What plugs and gap do you have?

Will do man, I’ll send updates log in next day or so, we have snow today so it’s not ideal.

I have Denso plugs, 8k miles on them. I used the recommended gap setting when I installed them do not recall what it was, but actually didn’t have to adjust gap on any of them just verified the gap. They all came gapped to recommend. I am already considering getting HKS though.

BMS recommends gapping at .022 I find it hard to believe your Denso’s were gapped that tight out of the box.

I bought them from BMS as a kit, came with gap tool etc.. but I believe they were at .020, I truly cannot be certain though. I’d have to pull one and check.

Pulled one and it’s gapped to .030

I thought might be the case. Check em all now.
I’m just going to buy the hks and swap them if I’m going to have to pull them all anyways. I’ll update later, thank you very much for your time and help.

HKS will have to be gapped at 0.022 as well, they also come gapped at 0.028- 0.030 or so….

Going to piggyback here, since this is a relatively new thing to me as well. I am currently waiting on my intakes to be shipped - but they're JT so it's entirely possible that I've paid off my loan before they're even shipped . I will be adding a JB4 to the setup, but my question is would I need to restart the logging process at Map 1 once I install the intakes? And potentially start over after the addition of each upgrade? Trying to gauge whether or not it is worth waiting on the JB4. Currently I am only running catch cans, catless secondary dp's and an exhaust.

I’m no expert, but if you run through maps without intakes and get to say map 2/3 and numbers look good, intakes will not change much, and you can likely just run a map 2 or 3 whereby you choose to stop after intakes are installed, if numbers do change in a negative way go back to square one (map 1) and troubleshoot from there.
