This same thing happened to me. Steering/suspension felt a bit off so I brought it in to a VIP tires. Front tires seemed to be wearing a bit on the outsides (Original Michelin Pilot Sport 4 that came on the car when I bought it new). Car had 12k miles on it, 6k of those were during winter with snow tires. VIP said I needed new tires and there seemed to be a problem with the alignment. Tires were balanced and everything else checked out fine.
I called the dealer the next day and they were adamant that Michelin's warranty would cover the tires. I brought it in, they took pictures and measurements. The following week the claim was approved by Michelin and my new tires were installed. Alignment, balance, mount etc were all covered. They also gave me the Pilot Sport 4S instead of just the 4.
The alignment showed the front toe on both sides was off, and the rear driver side toe was off.
The dealer said 99% of the time Michelin just approves the claim, even though it was the original equipment on the car and the issue seemed to be from the alignment and not the tires themselves.
