Took my 2019 GT2 in for service last week and was told it needs 4 tires asap. The car has 12k on it! Dealer said maybe I hit a pothole and knocked the alignment off. The tires are wearing straight. Is this kind of wear common? I drive the car pretty conservatively. Thanks.

Yes, especially for the staggered setup. The most I've gotten out of a set of tires is c. 18K, and that was the OE front; I'm getting close to that again with the second set of front tires: recently replaced the rears with the third set (not counting time on the A/S; this is all Michelin summer miles). Both the OE and replacement PS4S rears got somewhat less than 15K miles by the time I was hitting the wear bars. I'm mostly pretty sedate, but I do corner hard sometimes. I never burn out, however.

If you read much on here about tires and wheels, you'll discover a number of members who go through a set of rear tires in under 7K miles and even less than that.

The life of staggered summer tires is about 12-20k it seems if you have perfect alignment, never accelerate hard or corner. .. the awd models Michelin primacy tours don't have grip but do last.. at 13k miles and still have probably 70% life remaining.. if anything I wish they would wear faster so I wouldn't feel bad about getting rid of them and getting some uhp all season tires..

I’ve only gotten around 15-18k for the rears and just under 30k for fronts.
Your best bet is to find a place that will do a lifetime alignment and get it checked every 6 months

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This same thing happened to me. Steering/suspension felt a bit off so I brought it in to a VIP tires. Front tires seemed to be wearing a bit on the outsides (Original Michelin Pilot Sport 4 that came on the car when I bought it new). Car had 12k miles on it, 6k of those were during winter with snow tires. VIP said I needed new tires and there seemed to be a problem with the alignment. Tires were balanced and everything else checked out fine.

I called the dealer the next day and they were adamant that Michelin's warranty would cover the tires. I brought it in, they took pictures and measurements. The following week the claim was approved by Michelin and my new tires were installed. Alignment, balance, mount etc were all covered. They also gave me the Pilot Sport 4S instead of just the 4.

The alignment showed the front toe on both sides was off, and the rear driver side toe was off.

The dealer said 99% of the time Michelin just approves the claim, even though it was the original equipment on the car and the issue seemed to be from the alignment and not the tires themselves.

I just love reading a warm fuzzy happy ending. :D

Yeah I have a 2020 GT RWD with the staggered setup and replaced my 4 Michelin summers at 10k miles on the dot... pretty pathetic but whatever... hopefully the new G-Max all-seasons last longer... I drive pretty conservatively in the turns and corners but do often some pretty quick pulls from 5 to whatever speed limit it is... fun stuff... :p

But yes the setup you and I have eats tires horribly... I must admit I wish I knew this ahead of time before buying the Stinger but that's on me... :p
