New Sunset Yellow GT2 RWD!! Only $65,100......

Sorry, but if you paid it, there is no one else to blame but yourself. Cars and anything else in life are worth the amount someone will pay for it. People being willing to pay over MSRP are exactly why dealers try to charge over MSRP.
When a dealer has a car on their lot they have already bought that car from the manufacturer....they can ask for any $$$$ they want.......nobody is making anyone buy an overpriced car.....I got my yellow Stinger GT2 for $6700 under the MSRP.

Appreciate the kind words. Kia as a manufacturer wants these vehicles on the road. The Kia name is getting better every year and people/enthusiasts are starting to forget what Kia use to be. The Stinger is an amazing vehicle. We just need more drivers who will take a chance with us. Selling a Kia at $15,000 over sticker is not a way to gain a new fan base or following. I do not care how limited the vehicle or color is.
Wow. That’s stinks. I bought my Sunset Yellow Stinger at a local dealer that I have bought 4 other cars at. It was a GT AWD listed at 41,995 but after a few days of haggling, I was able to get it for 36,800. They first said they wouldn’t budge on price. I guess they lied. There are honest dealers out there. Just got to find them. Thanks.

What these dealers are doing is legal, certainly, but unethical and ultimately gives both them and Kia a bad reputation. Imagine a potential customer walking into a Kia showroom and seeing that price tag on the sticker. They may have no clue that the car is a great buy at $40-45K because the sticker doesn't even give them the option of trying it out. That dealer would make over $20,000 on that sale if someone was clueless enough to buy the paint instead of the car.

It also says everything you need to know about their honesty and business ethics. I wouldn't buy any car at any price from that dealer.

I dont disagree with your stance...however, a clueless buyer is also to blame, especially give the multitude and ease of access to information nowadays. Heck, even a comparison against another color trim should clue them in.

On a side note...the dealer near me that had their GT2 RWD at 68K for the last month finally dropped it to $52.8. Remember this same dealer flat out told me that their Yellow GT2 RWD was the only one in the SW United States and that there were 9 buyers ready to pay $68K so i should act fast...i suppose nothing about any of that was true since it is still on the lot and a different Yellow GT2 RWD is sitting in my garage.

Patience, persistence, and knowledge are key to this game.

Jesus I paid less $$$ for my GT limited all in. 65k down from 80!!? Thats ridiculous.

It's really going to seem ridiculous in a few months when Kia makes the yellow paint a standard color for 2019s.

I hope not. But if they do, at least I didnt pay over sticker. Actually they came down and after all the bickering, I paid 36,800 for my Yellow GT.

Yes, I paid well under sticker using lease/buyout...I suppose I paid slight premium given I had another dealer down an additional $3k on a silky silver GT2..unfortunately that silver is just too plain for me and just blends with everything else. Told them find me a yellow or ceramic at that and I'll sign now! No luck but the other dealer with yellow worked out!

I really hope they don't make it a standard color' for next year. That's some BS if they do with all the hell they put people through that wanted it.

It would be like a slap in the face.

But what would that say about us if we wanted more people to have to suffer for no reason?

Misery loves company?
LOL! We persevered and got one. Other manfacturers don't 'cave' and release limited models as regular because they are popular.

I'm torn. One on hand I want them to sell more Stingers, and on the other, I busted my ass to work and get a Yellow and it'd be nice to keep the 'rare' status for a car that I finally own.

It'll still be rare. You'll have 1 of only 400 2018 yellows.

There just might be another 5k 2019 yellows riding alongside you though.

Only if you were to post this option two months earlier, I would have jump on the opportunity and sign the dot line for the yellow GT. I am happy with the Mirco Blue GT for now, but my first color of choice was the yellow.
