New stinger website America

Stop reving the yanks up........lol

They will get the Stinger when they except they have to wait like the rest of us.........
Yea, nah Rainbowman. I totally disagree. The US market is insignificant. They always think they are important, but their roads and cars don't do corners and they can't appreciate technology. After all, who came up with the 'there's no replacement for displacement'...... Ya'll hear me now?

At last check the UK was getting their deliveries in Q3/Q4 with order books open now. Surely LHD markets must be gearing up for release even earlier than that? As for the importance of the American market: it IS important, but Kia are far more concerned with Europe given this car is designed to take the fight directly to the likes of Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes.

If they can make headway in Europe, it'll make selling them in the USA even easier. Just slap a "Autocar UK thinks this car is as good as a BMW" in an issue of Car and Driver and you have several thousand more units out the door.

Ben, they don't have to post anything about the automobile in any magazine.... Just look who designed it: Peter Schreyer, past Audi head of design; and Albert Biermann: past head engineer at BMW's M division. This car will sell itself!

It's just too easy bruv!
I knew you were trolling us!:confused::p:D:eek:o_O

And ya know what! There IS no true replacement for displacement. How are you going to replace displacement? By adding turbo, supercharger or nitrous? Well what if I add those things to the larger displaced motor? You can certainly bring serious power to smaller engines but the larger engines will always reign supreme when the playing field is leveled with the same technology.

Skyguy, I don't mean to be condescending, but the cliche about displacement was popular when my 1973 Riviera roamed the earth. Americans are just as car crazy as anybody the world over. I picked up my crazies from my dad, who in 1957 bought a 1956 Corvette, in 1961 owned a black and red Thunderbird, and in 1963 took the reigns of a gorgeous silver over red Jaguar XK-E roadster. Now if that ain't significant appreciation for classy and fast automotive iron, then you tell me different.

They're going to keep delaying and I'm gonna be in the Giulia for the next two years.

Jeff, If you get the 2.9 litre twin turbo Giulia, I think you'll be having such a romp as to want to keep it longer. From all that I read, the car is a beast! 0-60 in 3.8 seconds is mighty fast... and that's right out of the box. And the exclusivity factor cannot be denied.... especially when you consider BMW's and Merc's are a dime a dozen.

although I agree that they're trying to battle the Germans, that doesn't mean that Europe is the only place to do it in. Just because Autocar UK says XYZ does not mean the Americans care. The American market, quantitatively, is WAY bigger than the Euro or Australian market. Making headway in Europe does not help the American market

I talked to a Sales Manager last week, who said they're being told January.

I usually take what sales managers say about a car's release date with a big grain of salt. Fact of the matter is, they are there to sell you something on their floorplan or in their pipeline. I'm thinking October-November is enough time for KIA to get the Stinger stateside. As I previously stated in the forum; it's in their best interest to get crackin', lest some buyers/lessors go somewhere else while KIA twiddles their thumbs.

All of us on this forum know what we're looking for in a car but many normal people don't, they just see a badge, and if the continent of origin says XYZ is better than ABC, it really does help sales. I used to work for Renault Nissan, and America giving the thumbs up to the NP300 pickup boosted sales in Europe, as an example.

Just bring the car an people will write and talk about it in every single market !! We are talk about a test drive that was in Korea !!!
