So i just bought a new Scorpion edition. Anyone care to tell a newbie the best mods for these cars? 3.3L AWD model
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger Scorpion! What did the Stinger replace for you? I’m glad you found us. Check out the forum store and vendor section for mods.

Welcome to the hive! As said sway bars are a great upgrade

An oil catch can is a must of you plan on keeping the car long term. Handling and performance mods are also popular. Intake, exhaust, tune.

Getting rid of the stock boat anchors Kia calls wheels will help a lot.

So, a new 2022 Ascot Green GT2 AWD dropped into my lap on Saturday.

An occ was always on my list of intended mods to better protect the engine’s longevity.

The Burger Motorsports occ you mention drains into the crankcase rather than requiring regular emptying. Any downsides to this design considering others haven’t gone this route for some reason?

Also, rather than cutting the occ into the stock hose further towards the bottom (crankcase end) to better hide it, the instructions call for it to be installed close to the intake manifold with the 2 inch hose provided. Is there an issue installing it lower down, either in its performance, available space, or heat sources?

Thanks!

I'm personally not a big fan of the oil draining back into the oil pan because it's not only oil at that point. I did an oil analysis and found gas, water and copper in mine. As for the placement, a lot of people use the spot by the passenger fuse box. It's up to you where you mount it but the closer to the turbo the hotter it will get. Mine gets pretty hot but no issues so far.

Hey Scorpinger GT2,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Stinger.

The 3.3T Stinger AWD is an absolute beast of a car and a really great platform for mods.

Some of the most common beginner mods are an Oil Catch Can, Intake, and a Catback Exhaust.

You can find all of these products and much more on our website at www.K8StingerStore.com.

Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions, need suggestions, or if you would like a discount on your order.

Enjoy your new ride,
Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store

Yeah, contaminated oil was my concern, as well. But my previous experience with oil catch cans has been with rotaries, which require non-synthetic oil (and Guinness cans to catch the PCV bypass). I wasn’t sure if full synthetic was more tolerant.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll look for a more traditional occ solution.

Quick question: With the V6, is a single catch can sufficient and is there a preferred solution - either in mechanism or clean/solid mounting?

I run a dual setup because it looks cooler lol. And yes, the driver side one does collect oil just not as much as the passenger side.

Does anyone know if this intake also works on a ‘22? It is listed for a ‘18-19.
