Hello everyone!

I am new to the forum and have picked up a 2022 Stinger GT1, Ascot Green and Beige leather. Planning on doing some mods to the Stinger.

1. Full Front PPF
2. Midpipe, CAI and Front/Rear sway bars

My previous daily was a 15 FBO IS38 EQT tuned GTI. Her name was Snow. RIP. IMG_20210906_104048_163.webp

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! Nice upgrade from the modded GTI. Are you considering a JB4? I’m glad you found us. :)

I am unsure about the JB4. This is my first rwd car. I attempted a u turn and she got loose scared the hell out of me. Not used to such an effortless amount of power being put down. I feel like I need to re-learn how to drive on this platform vs. fwd or awd. I think I want to dial in the suspension and have it make a little noise first. Oh and I need new break pads, I am not a fan of the way the stock feel. Maybe ebc redstuff or hawk. Unsure.

I have the eibach pro front and rear sways on order. I see you opted for the GT-F springs, how do you like them? I live in Louisiana at the moment and I'd be lying if I didn't say we may have the worst roads in the US. I like the idea of a mild drop and not dumped, my GTI ran on coilovers and definitely gave me a rough ride.

Love it actually. Happy I chose it over the Eibachs. Perfect drop. Works with oem shocks so it was a good decision for me..

Thank you for the recommendation. I will most likely lean into those. I think round 2 of my upgrade is going to be brakes. The stock brakes feel so weak and don't bite like I am used too. I am just undecided on pads, atm. I think the stoptech lines, the motul rbf 600 paired with new pads will give me the bite im looking for.

Also in the market for brake pads. Looking at EBC red stuff since they’re currently in stock…

In the GTI world, EBC Redstuff and Centric PosiQuiet are most often reccomended. I am not familiar enough with this platform for what is really needed. I have also seen mentions of Hawk. The PosiQuiet are the best priced out of EBC or Hawk, hands down. Low-ish dusting, minimal noise and solid bite is the goal.

ATQ subframe bolts are good too. You will love the sway bars.

Yeah. I just got the posi quiet. Agree great price. Should have em on soon.

Welcome and congrats. That color combo sounds striking!

I have to say, it surprises me that you had such a highly tuned GTI and are not used to an effortless amount of power. I had a MK6 and MK7, both with just stage 1, and they both presented a constant exercise in restraint. They would spin the front tires effortlessly--especially from a dig, and triply so with any steering angle! This was true on the MK6 even with summer times (Firehawk Indy 500s), and ironically the MK7 with a JB4 on map 1 with stock tires.

Was the road dry when you attempted this U-turn?

Hey, welcome. I have Ark GT-F springs and eibach sways front and rear. great setup! My previous car, now my son's car, is a 2016 GTI, FBO, with stage 2 Sneaky tune. I put H&R springs on the GTI right away. The Stinger with ARK GTF springs and Eibach sways is way more comfortable than the GTI was. You will love it. Stinger corners nice and flat but still so much less bumpy than the GTI was. I'm thrilled the old GTI is still in the family. It's an amazing car, especially tuned. Heck the GTI is only a split second slower than the Stinger, even with all my mods, and it handles better! I also miss the manual trans. My son let's me drive it every now and then.

They sounds incredibly compelling. Excited to hear your feedback on how they feel. For me the dusting is one thing but noise and bite are what I want the most. The GTI and its bite is the standard for all brake setups moving forward. So effortless.

The car ate. EQT definitely didn't let me down. The power though feels completly different from the twin turbo v6 to an IS38 tuned GTI. It literally knocks you back in the seat. I absolutely loved the car and miss it. I am a massive VW fan boy but I did have bad luck with the need to rebuild the engine and less than a year later it gets taken by a flash flood. She didn't deserve the fate.

I had wheel hop and spin befire but had BFI engine and trans mounts that kept her engaged and in line. I would lie if I told you I didn't miss the platform but I needed to try something new.

Howdy and welcome. Two pics and you cut her bum off in both of them. Don't you like the Stinger's rear? ;)

. I didn't want to go there but less than 12 hours after getting it, she was rear-ended by a lady pre-occupied with her spilled McDonalds. The newness is wore off, but... We are a team and she is getting fixed up as she deserves. People are so inconsiderate!

 Get out!! Wow

^^Seek diminished value compensation. I'm sure we could have gotten $500 or more on our trade in to carmax had the car not been in a fender bender before, requiring a new fender and paintwork.

I'm so sorry. Was just having a bit of fun over your framing.
