About a month into a Stinger GT
Coming out of a 2012 mustang GT/CS, six speed manual. Due to heavy clutch and Houston traffic, my old bones could not take anymore shifting.
The Stinger is one of very few automatics i've owned and first auto trans with significant power.
Stinger of course Very Much more comfortable but miss the control offered by a manual. This is lessened by the nearly ever available torque. however still getting used to the automatic's downshifts and acceleration when getting on it in city driving/traffic. Found myself too close to the bumper of the vehicle in front of me on a few occasions.
Recently, it seems to take more pedal for it to kick down in comfort mode. Is it possible the trans is one of those that supposedly adapts to the driver's habit and the vehicle thinks I want to putt around?
Not really into the paddle shifters (using them seems strange...never had 'em before).
In any event, it's definitely a new driving experience that's so far been a pleasure.
Looking forward to possible intake & exhaust, beyond that don't want to run into potential warranty issues

Do you have manual gate? Because you can bump the shifter into the next highest gear, or pull it to the next lower gear; that's maybe more natural than a paddle shifters setup for you. When you rest your arm on the center console your hand rests naturally on the "T" handle.

Supposedly, "Smart Mode" learns your driving habits. I don't believe that the car adapts to you in any other drive mode than Smart. It takes time, of course. But I haven't used Smart but for one fairly brief period months ago checking it out. It stays in Eco most of the time if you are a "civilized" driver. If you are a "spirited" driver the indicator will push up into "Comfort". And if you stand on the gas it will do short bursts into "Sport".

I drive mine in manual 100% of the time. I like what it does for the borlas and auto shifts too frequently for me.

JWS and Getstung... can you please alter you profile to show your location. City and state is fine. That way we know roughly what area youre in. Thx

Thanks for the info.
