New Stinger GT Owner and New Forum Member

Hi all,

Great to join this forum as a new Stinger Owner and member. I live in regional NSW, Australia. Recently bought the GT and added the Australian dealer fitted bimodal exhaust.

Love the car since buying it a couple of months ago but like any good thing it hasn’t been without its challenges. I have a few experiences to share which I think will be really informative for other owners with similar difficulties but not sure if I should list them here or in a more specific topic/thread area. One was a roof dint upon delivery, the other is a new rattle noise which I have not read about anywhere else - including a diagnosis and fix!

Can someone suggest the best place to share these experiences if they sound of interest to forum members?

Welcome aboard @Barto85 probably do what the guys above have suggested, but also jump on the NSW owners register in the Stingers Down Under section so the guys can add you to the list. What part of NSW are you from? Where’d you pick the Stinger up from? Any extras other than bimodal?

Welcome Barto. Ditto what Merlin said. Post it anywhere you think appropriate, we’ll find it under new posts. Presumably the dealer has fixed the roof dint? If not I’d be grabbing him by the scruff of the neck and making another dint.

Thank you for the words of welcome (and wisdom)..

I will post about the rattle in Stinger Talk as suggested - thanks Merin et al.

I live on the Mid North Coast and also bought the car here too. No extras as this stage in addition to the exhaust. Minor additions planned: I like the look of the red GT wheel nut covers and door striker covers. Will likely add these in the near future.

Love the humour OliverNuther re the roof dint. So quick story with the roof dint:
I was able to determine that there was a very high likelihood that the dealer did it when placing their dealership sticker on the tailgate glass panel. The dint was coincidently right where one’s elbow would sit an arm length away from the sticker when leaning over the roof!.. But low and behold the dealer told me the dint was normal and that all new Stingers have it... Fortunately there were two other Stingers at the dealership so when I rang up I asked him to photograph the other Stingers with “a dint in the roof” and send me the photos. After not hearing back (or ever seeing any photos of other dinted roof Stingers), I re-contacted the dealer. A short time later payment was offered by the dealer for the roof dint repair.. Say no more.

I’ll post about the rattle in Stinger Talk a little later on and will upload a pic or two of the car.

Lol. Love the dint story. Moral of the story is never trust a dealer when they say ‘it’s normal’. Sounds like you’ve got this well under control.

The Stinger replaced a Mitsubishi Triton..

Well, he had to try at least! What a dreadful way to start a relationship.
