An old man (49) living in Vancouver, BC. I just bought a Thunder Grey Stinger GT with the red leather. I didn't even get very deep into it before we were hit with a series of torrential rain events and water started coming in around the sunroof.

I just took a call from Kia service department saying they ordered a couple of new weather seals that were faulty but it'll take a couple of weeks to arrive.

I think they should also replace the headliner and A pillar fabric because I'm worried about mould developing be the time it's fixed. We're in for a lot more rain by then. The service department said they would just shampoo it so it'll be clean. I've never owned a car with any manufacturer warranty left on it and I'm not sure how to convince the dealer. Any advice on handling this would be appreciated.

Welcome to the hive. A problem right out of the gate what a drag. I think this is the first sun roof leak I’ve heard of too. Living in Vancouver you gotta get that fixed! I don’t think mould will be a big concern unless this is something that has been going on for awhile and never completely dried out. If it just started and you nip it in the bud quick like it should be ok. Any mods planned?

Howdy and welcome. So, you are the second owner, by the sound of it. Likewise, this is the first leaking sunroof I've heard of: but being a previously owned vehicle, I'd be worried like you that water damage has occurred, and ask about removing the headliner to make sure how things look in there.

Welcome, sorry to hear about the leak. Hope they remedy the ENTIRE situation to your satisfaction.

Excellent suggestion. Play the curious card then everyone standing there will be wondering as well. Get them excited to open things up to look. Good one Merlin:thumbup:

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Thanks for the words, all. I AM the second owner, before me the car lived in a very dry region. I'm going to pick up the car and get a glass shop to lay some waterproof film over the sunroof whilst I'm waiting for the parts to come in.

As far as mods, I've read discussions here and seen a lot of videos from owners who've done various things and I definitely want to get into it. I'm not looking to become a drag strip king or anything like that. I'm going to daily the car and use it as the name suggests, as a GT. As far as I know, she is bone stock at the moment.

Thanks again.
