Hi everyone.
I'm picking up my blue Stinger GT Limited this Friday.
I currently drive a 2002 MINI Cooper S that I still enjoy, but doesn't fit my family's needs.
I haven't had to make car payments in over 13 years, so I'm not looking forward to that aspect.

My first two questions out of many, I'm sure:
Does this car get lots of attention?
How is it on gas?

(Mods feel free to move this to the introduce yourself thread...)

Welcome to the forums....

Attention, yep, almost starts to bother you when everyone stares, and not paying attention to where they are going.
Gas mileage, is good about 9.8 L/100KM, usually all in sport mode.

I had the exact same thing when I got my mini.
I even had a guy follow me off the highway into a parking lot and ask me a bunch of questions.

Oh you'll get that also, along with what the hell are you driving, and the other is who would buy a KIA.... just laugh at them.

My question is, should I keep the current badges that come with it, or upgrade them to the Lexus-looking ones?

Gas isn’t great but improves a little over time as you break it in. I average 17 or so mpg.. highway I can get up to 30 .. really depends on style

I'm using 89 oct. Premium is recommended not mandatory.

The stock GT runs just fine on 87 octane. Not the same hp (loses about 7hp from 91 or so the experts say), but I get no different fuel economy on 87 than on 91.

I consistently average 27 mpg, 75% highway at average 75 mph. On a recent trip to Ruidoso, NM and back to El Paso we averaged 31.3 at 75-80 mph.

I use all-weather floor mats to make cleaning the eggs up easy, and I crush lots of eggs!

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new ride. The mileage varies depending on how you drive and word is it gets better over time.

Hi Cannuckie,

Gas mileage isn't a consideration when you buy this car, surely. If you were into a 2.0T then that would be more in line with wanting economy mixed with adequate power. But the 3.3TT GTs? You want power first, gas economy second. That said, with the different drive modes that cater to saving fuel, it can be done by treating your 3.3TT "superpowers" engine like an old granny. Then you'll get upwards of 29 mpg Hwy. The fuel economy gauge is rather capricious. And apparently, according to a couple of OC observers here (@Paul32 in particular), the Stinger's economy gauge reads 1-2 mpg on the generous side.

I took driver education in high school (1955/56) on a stick shift. The instructor told the class something that I have remembered all these years. Imagine a raw egg between the gas pedal and your foot when pressing on the gas. Also, no Jack Rabbit starts. Don't always do that but does work most of the time. My MPG is as good as anyone. Also helps in the environment you are driving in. The Stinger V6 gets as good or better than most SUV's.

My egg has become an omelette. :D

Hey! Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations! The Stinger GT is a nice upgrade from the MINI Cooper! Does it get lots of attention? :p I'm going to guess that was already answered. :p
