Hi Everyone,

Just bought a Kia Stinger GT Limited today ! Pretty excited. I take ownership in early to mid April. Purchased it brand new in ghost grey with black Napa interior.

I’m located in Ottawa, Canada so thankfully I will get the car post pot hole season lol.

I’ve already booked it for a Cermic coat protection package. The 8-10 year pacakage (so lots of layers). That’s the first thing I do with any car I buy. Already purchased the black carbon front and rear emblems and the stinger writing for the trunk so plan on a full rebadging upon delivery. Also purchased the oil catch can because you all were so helpful in recommending it. Probably invest in some coil overs and more aggressive wheels come summer. But going to do some reading into the current dampening and see if messing around with is worth it. Obvious small stuff like drop ins like short ram intakes, wider down pipes (probably custom), larger inter cooler probably. We’ll see as time progresses. Pretty stoked to see what aftermarket parts are available.

Looking forward to catching up on the threads.

Thanks for welcoming me.

Welcome! I got the same one as you. But I don't know anything about modifying cars so I usually leave it at stock. Hope it comes soon!

I will likely leave it lightly stock for a few months and see how it drives then start tinkering. Where are you in Canada ??

Oh awesome man ! Well if you ever find yourself in Ottawa let me know ! How are you finding your stinger ? What should I expect in the first few months ? Any tips ?

Will do!

It's awesome! You'll find a lot of useful info on this forum. Coming from a 4 banger I am finding that the car has loads of power but I'm constantly filling up. It's too damn cold to take decent photos and of course keeping it clean is hard in the winter too.

The benefit of getting a 2nd or 3rd run car (ie from the factory) is that yours will probably not have the hatch rattle that some of ours have had.

Are you planning on rebadging the car? What are you doing for rims/tires?

Oh no ?!? Hatch rattle ? Did the dealer fix it ? What else have you noticed ?

What four banger were you running before ?

Yea as for badges I already ordered the black carbon ones for front and rear and will likely be doing the stinger writing in black.

Wheels and tires I’m going to run stock for a while because it is spring and won’t need winters come April. For the summer I’ll probably buy more aggressive wheels after I research factory offset but definitely not going in to minus offset like on my previous cars. Poor decisions lol and lessons learned. For the winter I’ll be buying 18” for sure. Probably some basic wheels from fast wheels or DAI but tires I won’t skimp on. I’ll be getting Toyo GO-2 observes. A little biased because I love them and don’t want to experiment with any other ones.

For winter I got Blizzaks which I have been pretty happy with on other vehicles. My 4 banger was an '06 Acura TSX (loved that car). Fastwheels FC-04 fit over the brembos and come in two colours, both of which I was able to "try out" on my car, lol.

Yes they fixed the hatch rattle through a TSB. Easy fix. When you say black carbon badges, will it still say KIA?

TSX are fun cars. I had a type R for a 1.5 years. Was a blast !!!

Thanks for the heads up on the Brembo BBK fitment with fast wheels. I wanna buy another set of work wheels for it. I miss my work meisters s1’s.

Yes in the Kia stinger market place there’s a guy named k5optimastore or whatever and he sells black carbon colored carbon Kia badges. I doubt it’s actual carbon fiber for the price lol but looks good I guess. We’ll see. I’m gonna be trying to black out a lot of things.

Question. On the ghost grey. The accent colors on the exterior are they chrome or are they that gunmetal dark grey chrome like on the black stingers ?

I believe the dark/black chrome is standard on the GTs across all colours. It's a niiccce look.

Okay awesome ! Was hoping that was the case. Thanks for the help man.

You done any mods yourself ?
Oh yes, tons. I modify my wheels every spring and fall when I change the wheels and tires

Nope, no mods myself. However I did rebadge to what I call the broken K / what others call the Klexus badge. It's just a sticker that goes on top, lol.

Thanks man !! Appreciate the welcome !

Haha yea I don’t waste time. Idle hands make idle minds. Like to keep busy always.

I’ll definately take photos of the cermic coating in progress and of any of the smaller stuff I do. I wanna see what these polyphonic exhausts sounds like that debuted on that orange SEMA sTinger
