New JB4 Stinger Dyno Results!

Im on the fence of which to get, JB4 or Lap3. The Lap3 Pro is just SO expensive and JB4 so much more affordable. Do you get what you pay for in this case or is the JB4 just as good???

Jb4 owners will say jb4, lap3 pro will say theirs is better. Many more jb4 owners on this forum.
There are a couple threads where people had jb4 and switched to lap3 pro. Those may be most useful.

Depends there way more JB4 owners here so the majority will say JB4. I know the people that have the Lap 3 pro absolutely love it. It is more expensive but if your planning on running primary down pipes down the road get the lap 3 pro tuner. If money is not an issue get the Lap 3. If money is a concern of yours then get the JB4. To get non biased feedback look at the lap 3 pro reviews and reach out to the people that have the lap 3, there were a couple memeber that switched from jb4 to lap 3. The majority here will say JB4. My best advice is read and do your own research. If it was me personally I would go lap 3 pro tuner. I got a JB4 now. I got my JB4 before the lap 3 pro tuner was out, I also got it for really cheap at the time. I am patiently waiting to get a ecu tune.

11.5 on stock turbos came true, at least in dragy land.

Great times in virtual reality!! Can’t wait to see your times at the track. I know you will impress all of us come track time, although I don’t think you will get an 11.5, but I know you will definitely get an 11 second pass. When are you planning on hitting the track?

I'm obviously biased but I just don't understand why anyone would ever buy the Lap3Pro at this stage in the game even if they were the same price. The systems have identical technical functionality (CANbus, bluetooth, various I/O, etc) but the JB4 is a much more highly developed and feature rich implementation. The app support is night and day. The Lap3Pro can't even properly datalog or boost by gear yet. And since they are focused on pushing flash maps now who is to say it ever gets another update?

Week and a half if the weather cooperates. With 20 degree warmer temps, no slope and heat soak waiting in line, 11.8 maybe?

You got this!! In my eyes if you can get an 11 second pass that is an accomplishment right there, with just bolt ons and no wmi. Keep me updated and good luck at the track.

My take is that dollar for dollar you can't beat JB4 but if you wanted to put more cash into tuning I'd totally go for an ECU tune over Lap3

I admit I favor the JB4, but also will admit they are both great piggybacks and sure you would be happy with either one. However, no matter how much team Lap3 says they are better please understand they are much more similar than they are different.

As others said they both use that same adjustments to gain more power(boost, ignition timing & AFR), and have almost all the same functionality. The lap3 is simply less developed, with less features and still uses the outdated Crank sensor with makes it much harder to install/remove.

Both also make very similar power gains with the biggest differences being Torque output and peak TQ RPM. Generally the Lap3 makes significantly less TQ, but they push the TQ curve higher in the RPM range which makes higher peak HP. They focus on breaking HP records, while the JB4 makes more power "under the curve" and for longer throughout the RPM range.

Another words, you will get more than what you pay for with the JB4, or pay alot more for the lap3 to get a few more HP, but many more disadvantages.

To the majority of Stinger owners its a no brainier, but to each their own and happy tuning no matter which option you choose!

I think i made up my mind and gonna go with the JB4. I have intakes and SSR midpipes already. I dont plan on getting primary downpipes, but maybe a catback exhaust. I’ll dyno it when i get the JB4

Beware of the dreaded drone with catbacks....if you wanna increase noise that's great, but very lil HP comes with installing the catbacks...look in classifieds to pick up nice one owners catbacks :) Wash

I think you've done the right thing so far, and got the key elements in place that will help when asking the engine for more power - better airflow both in and out.

Wash F drone This is America !!! Make some noise as long as your not on California your fine lol. MURICA!!

I'm backwards, my catback added 10 hp per the dyno compared to 2 other Stock Stingers on that same dyno. My mid pipe added no power per my dragy 0-60 times same day before and after the mid pipe install. The only catback that sounds semi drone safe, especially with a mid pipe is Magnaflow and maybe Thermal. Someone needs to make a resonated mid pipe! :)

@SSR Performance I think Tonkabob is talking to you. You've got the front and rear covered...

Leave the primaries and save on headaches.
