New GTS Owner

Hey everyone! I've had my eye on Stingers for a long time and have finally joined the club. I bought my 2019 GTS on 4/2/22 with just under 18k miles on the clock. My G37 coupe was approaching 150k miles and was missing a lot of modern features and conveniences. I recently started a new job that is going to require more time in the car so it seemed the right time to upgrade.

The GTS is a little more base than I was originally thinking of going, but I was given a very good offer on my trade-in and I was quite taken with the orange paint and Alcantara touches. Looking forward to racking up the miles in this beauty and joining the community.View attachment 69468View attachment 69469View attachment 69470View attachment 69471
Welcome!

Congrats.

Tell me about that front plate... Is it an optical illusion or is it installed crooked?

Unfortunately it is slightly crooked. While swapping out those dealer plate frames for plain ones I noticed the front plate screws into a black mounting plate mounted to the front of the car. Guess whatever dealer/previous owner installed that didn't line it up perfectly. If it continues to irk me I'll see what I can do about it.

Just get the actual front plate mount that goes on the bumper if it really gets annoying.

I might still have mine if you want it? Just pay shipping.

EDIT: Found it.

I'll take a look at my car in the morning and check things out. Might take you up on that.

So, I won't be needing your plate mount since that's what's installed on my car. I guess the bozo that attached it was either lazy or cross-eyed (or both) because it's drilled into the bumper crooked. Since I'm not interested in putting new holes in the car, I tried to compensate by attaching my plate frame slightly tilted to help compensate. Looks a little better than before. Probably not something most will notice unless I tell them (I won't).

Any wiggle room on the screw holes? Maybe you can enlarge the holes and add a washer to correct the bracket.... I know it would drive me insane

I don't see any obvious misalignment of the plate frame in your pic.

Well good, that's what I'm going for. In one of the photos you can see the black, rectangular mounting plate that the plate and frame get screwed into and it's attached to the car crooked. I tried to compensate for that by raising the right side of the plate frame before tightening the screws so that side would sit higher. If it looks straight to you then my discount-fix did its job.

Looks good to me, although my head is on crooked.

I have yet to get any attention for no front plate in NJ. I think the orangeness is so distracting they don’t notice or maybe don’t care. I’ve been pulled over a number of times for other things though.

I’d consider getting those holes filled.

On that note, NJ may be passing a bill for single plates which seems to be a trend around the country.

I went without a front plate on my G37 and got stopped multiple times. Go figure.

I would of course love to go without but it's just not worth the risk to me. It'd be great if that bill passes.

I have the tow hook plate because it’s hit or miss in NJ. Luckily when I bought new In PA they mentioned they don’t drill the front, even for out of state, just provide the bracket.

If the dealer had not already drilled for the front plate, I would have gotten the tow hook mount

Congrats on the beautiful car! I got my GTS new in early 2020. I have 25,000 on it now. I've said it before, but as much as I love the Stinger, I wouldn't have bought one if I hadn't been able to get it in orange. That's how much I love the color. Be ready to get a lot of attention .
