He said if for whatever reason the HUD or windshield camera/rain sensor didn't work correctly after he installed the new aftermarket windshield he didn't have the capability to fix it and it would need to go to a dealership. But he said Kia dealers won't work on the systems if it's non-OEM glass.So you're saying after they install your new windshield you are going to then have to go to the dealership and have it calibrated? That's shitty. Hope it all works out though. I made sure the place I went was going to be able to calibrate it after they installed it.
This is another reason why I waited on getting this replaced. Nothing is a simple fix anymore in cars with all the electronics and safety features.
I remember when I owned a 2016 Honda CRV Touring I took my car to Safelite to replace the windshield then I had to make an appointment at a Honda dealership for them to recalibrate the windshield camera because Safelite didn't have the capability to do it themselves.
