Had a new windshield installed. Not OEM. The install looks flawless and everything works perfectly. Never had to go to the dealer either.
Insurance paid $789.98 $1,289.98 total. What was the cost of the replacement?
Nice. Thanks for the info.Yea they recalibrated everything. It seemed like it wasn't exactly right as I had 2 pivot it to the left all the way for it to be straight, but it's higher up on the window now where as before from the factory I couldn't see it even at it's highest setting because I sit so low in the seat. I made it clear I was not taking it to a dealership. They said they could calibrate it and even if they couldn't someone from the dealer would come to them. Anyway, I couldn't be more satisfied.
Diamond Auto Glass Flagstaff, AZNice. Thanks for the info.
One more question, which company installed the windshield?
Thanks again!
That might be able to be filled... a lot less painful than replacementApparently I'm not allowed to have nice things.
3 weeks? That's brutal man. I hope they can fix this one. I guess I can't be too upset. When I had to get a replacement windshield on my Optima I literally got a rock chip the very next day.I got a bad rock hit just below the windshield transparent part on the passenger side last weekend. Just 3 weeks into owning the car. Had them come out and do a repair, but they said it wasn't taking the glue. Looks like a classic spider, but I guess it's deep. It looks better after the attempted repair, but this is disappointing, most likely I'll have to replace it soon. I guess luckily my deductible is $250 (you can't get zero deductible around here) given the nature of this windshield.
I drive to Iowa every couple of years, I always get my windshield pitted. It is your gravel roads there, they are bad.3 weeks? That's brutal man. I hope they can fix this one. So you're saying after they install your new windshield you are going to then have to go to the dealership and have it calibrated? That's shitty. Hope it all works out though. I made sure the place I went was going to be able to calibrate it after they installed it.I had an appointment to get my windshield replaced. I've delayed this for months but the crack kept getting bigger and is now in my sight of view.
The windshield technician came to my house to replace today but once he knew of my HUD and camera/rain sensor in the windshield he said that his company ordered aftermarket glass and not Kia OEM. He said if there were any issues with the HUD not displaying correctly or the windshield camera needing recalibration that Kia won't fix it because it's not OEM glass. So he recommended I call his windshield company and have them order Kia OEM glass and install that. So now I await a phone call on when they can get the OEM windshield and appointment to come back out for the install.
