If you thrash it hard and put it away hot, then that is useful. IMO only useful for track days or bragging.

Then don't thrash it hard and put it away hot?

Even after a track session, it's wise to drive around a little (you do a warm-down lap, and then don't just get out and shut it off...

Hey, I didn't say it was smart, I just said there are scenarios where it makes sense.

I have the system. My installers messed up a couple dipswitch setting on the initial install and I went a month without the remote start working and my blind spot control working. Turns out they read some instructions wrong and admitted it. Now that it works as it should I love it compared to the factory install.

That being said I wouldn't go out of my way to get it when if you're comparing prices and NEED a professional install. If you can do it yourself it's worth it over the factory one though. I actually like the hazard lights coming on and the auto lock/unlock.

Can you tell me what the current dip switch settings are at now? I have installed and the car audio swears up and down its something with the dip switches. TIA

Got my install wrapped up this weekend. Took a little back-and-forth with K8SS relaying messages to the manufacturer, but we got there. One of my crimps was bad....

There's only one note on the documentation: In the setup where it says "briefly press" the smart button to stop the engine, it should say "press the smart button for 3 seconds".
I was an idiot and when I saw the diagram say "REAR" on the fuse box picture, I thought it meant the rear fuse box (in the trunk). No, it means the backside of the driver's fuse box. Of course I tore apart the interior before realizing it! Similarly, getting to the sunroof wiring is much simpler than one would assume. The control/light panel pops right out after 2 screws then can use a wire fishing line to pull the wires up there.
Based on the pictures I also assumed the IMU was located on the center console. So I tore a bunch of the passenger footwell trim, dash and console trim off. Nope, it's just tucked really high on the passenger kick panel.

For those working on this, one very useful note: to do a *FULL* reset on the module, unplug it, set DIP switches 2->8 to ON, plug in module. It'll beep twice, pause, beep twice, pause, repeat forever. You can unplug it once it beeps the first time. Now set the DIPs back to the documented setting (6 and 7 ON, all others OFF) and you can start from the top.

Amazingly all my wire thieves actually worked. One broke one of the particularly small wires, but otherwise it went pretty easily. I was lazy and used those instead of cut/crimp/seal on all the connections.

I just got the CCM and planning to do the install next week. I'm creating a walkthrough and will post once I update with pictures etc...

The install is complete and fully tested without any issues. I've created a comprehensive DIY (took 20hrs to put together) and provided to K8SS to post on their site.

That’s awesome!!! Can’t wait to look at it

No need to wait, here's a copy to browse.
The one thing in the past that kept me from getting this is the cost of install. I had a few places refuse to do it as I wanted them to warranty it for a bit after the install. With this well documented guide I think this is something I can undertake myself with patience. As someone who has no experience with soldering and very little electrical experience, would this be doable?

You can certainly do this yourself but you need to be comfortable stripping and soldering wires. I recommend getting some similar wires and practicing these techniques (there's plenty of how to videos online). Also, might be a good idea to go through this with a friend that has some experience with pulling panels and soldering.
