Hello all, I’ve been reading around these forums for a few weeks now and it looks like a great place to be!

I just picked up a 21 AWD Aurora Black GT line last week and so far I’m absolutely thrilled with it! I previously driving a 19 Civic Si and while I liked that car, it just wasn’t fitting anymore with my 1 year old and wife not really liking it.

A few years ago my friend bought a 19 Stinger GT and has been raving about it ever since so I figured I had to go check it out. My dilemma of course was 4 cylinder vs V6 and of course the 22 4 cylinder was also an option. In the past I’ve owned a 2004 Mach 1 mustang and a 2014 Dodge Charger R/T so I’m very familiar with actually fast cars. However where I live I found I was mostly frustrated with them because I could pretty much never actually use the power due to constant traffic with living in the city.

Keeping my past performance cars in mind, I decided to give the 21 a try as the deal was very good on it. I was honestly surprised at how quick the 2.0 was on the test drive. On paper I figured it would be roughly the same as the Si but the increased torque made the car feel much quicker than the Si was. I also noticed the car felt smaller than it was, my Charger always felt like a boat but this car felt much more put together in the turns.

I did try and see if the dealer would bring down the price for the 22 but they wouldn’t budge off MSRP so I didn’t bother test driving it. I do think the the 22 with the 2.5 4 cylinder would be the sweet spot for me but I couldn’t justify the extra money as the 2.0 felt perfectly capable to me. Also I didn’t like the new wheels or the new exhaust tips so that made the decision easier.

I look forward to being part of the Stinger group now!

Congrats on your purchase from a fellow '21 GT-Line owner!

The 2.0T has plenty of pep around town, especially if you leave it in Sport mode or manual mode keeping revs at 2K and above. Enjoy the car!

Welcome

Welcome home!

Hey 21Hemispheres12,

Welcome to the Stinger forum and congrats on your new Aurora Black GT Line.

I also so live in a dense city, Los Angeles, so I know exactly how you feel about not being able to fully enjoy high-powered cars.

The 2.0T is more than capable for a family daily driver with enough mod potential that you can do some autocross or spirited canyon drives on the weekend.

We have a lot of great aftermarket options for the 2.0T available at the K8 Stinger Store, feel free to reach out at any time if you have any questions.

See you around,
Daniel @ the
K8 Stinger Store

Congrats on buying a great car! Two weeks ago I went to buy a K5 GT. It just didn’t float my boat. I ended up buying a 21 Stinger GT Line in Snow White pearl with AWD and the sun and sound package. So glad I bought the Stinger! Best of luck with yours!

I was interested in the K5 GT until I watched some reviews that said it couldn’t put its power down at all, I think Kia should have put the 2.0 in the K5 GT or gave it awd or a limited slip. Hope you are enjoying your Stinger as much as I’m enjoying mine! The 21 GT lines seem to be going pretty quick now.

I have yet to see another one on the road.

I reckon that you'll get your first sighting sooner than I did: it took me over five months before I saw another "Stinger in the wild". :D

Welcome!! Fellow 2.0 owner here but counting down the days before going 2.5 or 3.3!!! I have about a 30 min commute and I hate when the it is over because i have to get out of the car.....Was considering a Supra but something keeps pulling me back to the Stinger.

Had it 2 yrs now purchased new and love it just as much as I did when I drove it off the lot.

No need to justify the size of your engine friend! ;)

Whether you got a 2.0L, 2.5L, or 3.3L we're all family here.

Congrats and welcome! :D

The civic Si is a great car btw! I have had a few cool cat friends in the past with well modded civics and they have great potential! Super light and very fun! :)
