Hello all, I’ve been reading around these forums for a few weeks now and it looks like a great place to be!
I just picked up a 21 AWD Aurora Black GT line last week and so far I’m absolutely thrilled with it! I previously driving a 19 Civic Si and while I liked that car, it just wasn’t fitting anymore with my 1 year old and wife not really liking it.
A few years ago my friend bought a 19 Stinger GT and has been raving about it ever since so I figured I had to go check it out. My dilemma of course was 4 cylinder vs V6 and of course the 22 4 cylinder was also an option. In the past I’ve owned a 2004 Mach 1 mustang and a 2014 Dodge Charger R/T so I’m very familiar with actually fast cars. However where I live I found I was mostly frustrated with them because I could pretty much never actually use the power due to constant traffic with living in the city.
Keeping my past performance cars in mind, I decided to give the 21 a try as the deal was very good on it. I was honestly surprised at how quick the 2.0 was on the test drive. On paper I figured it would be roughly the same as the Si but the increased torque made the car feel much quicker than the Si was. I also noticed the car felt smaller than it was, my Charger always felt like a boat but this car felt much more put together in the turns.
I did try and see if the dealer would bring down the price for the 22 but they wouldn’t budge off MSRP so I didn’t bother test driving it. I do think the the 22 with the 2.5 4 cylinder would be the sweet spot for me but I couldn’t justify the extra money as the 2.0 felt perfectly capable to me. Also I didn’t like the new wheels or the new exhaust tips so that made the decision easier.
I look forward to being part of the Stinger group now!
