Need more USB Data ports

It occurs to me that if multiple USB devices is not possible, then what needs to be done it to make the most of a single USB device. To that end I just ordered a wireless USB/SD interface (RAVPower File Hub) that will allow my Android phone to access stored MP3 files for music while retaining navigation and other Android auto functionality. I will report back with my results.

Do you have a Samsung phone?

Yes a Galaxy Note 8

Then all you need to get 2 free apps, AnyAutoAudio and Samsung Music (if you don't already have it).

AnyAutoAudio does just that, allows you to broadcast music (i.e. Samsung Music), YouTube, etc. audio to Android Auto. Samsung Music easily allows to to play Mp3 music stored on your device.

I appreciate the suggestion for what apps to use. I will continue to see if the wireless SD hub will work with those apps. I like to have my entire music collection available when I drive. Excessive perhaps, but I have been spoiled by prior head units.

I use a 128GB MicroUSB in my phone for music. When they come out with a 500GB MicroUSB card I'll have a little more room for mine...

I'm curious to hear how this works. I'm not familiar with Android Auto but I'd consider switching from iPhone if it works over wifi thru a device like this. I'm pretty happy with CarPlay but the quality of the individual CarPlay enabled apps vary greatly. Amazon in particular needs to get this shizz together.

You know I am an idiot! I did not know that I could add additional memory to a Galaxy Note 8 until I did a google search after your comment. Fortunately Amazon hadn't shipped yet, so I will just slap a 256 GB micro SD and call it a day.

Like I said, Android Auto. AnyAutoAudio. No interfaces. No devices. It just works.
And you don't have to root your phone.
