I've been writing programs since 1949. Software without errors is likely impossible. The more complex the tasks to be performed and the more complex the environment, the higher the probability of errors. When a bug is found, correcting it will introduce other errors. It's a tough job.

After each modification, alpha and beta testing will expose some of the errors. Once the amount of known errors is satisfactory and the seriousness of the known errors is deemed acceptable, a new version is released. And this goes on forever. . . .

The best we Stinger owners can hope for is that good judgement is used to decide when new software should be released. The Nav software is so involved with the other systems in the car, safety becomes a big issue. I recommend just relaxing, enjoy the current version and what it provides. Every month or so, check and see if a new release is available. When one is, check thoroughly other's experiences with the new version and decide if updating makes sense for you. Don't lose sight of the devil you know vs the devil you don't.

Yesterday afternoon I checked on the Nav update. The updater program once again downloaded an update for itself, then went to the login screen. Whereupon it refused my login and / or password. I confirmed they were both correct, but not acceptable, WTF? Apparently Kia lost my info? Hmmm, wonder if Kia Owner's account has lost me also? Nope, everything fine there.

Guess I'll take the 'Guest' option and try the download and see if it is up yet. Yes, downloaded IIFC 17,961 Bytes. Saved copy of old Kia SD card and transferred the new download to it. Installed without issue in around 30 minutes.

My chosen USB folder changed to the USB root, but I couldn't find any other differences.

The previous update changed the sound function from:

The steering wheel button only adjusts the audio volume of the media device. The dash volume control adjusts the volume of whatever has audio priority at that moment. So, no matter what's going on, the steering wheel volume button will only affect the USB, radio, etc., entertainment stuff. If the Nav is giving audio instructions, the dash knob will adjust those guidance instructions volume - very convenient.

To: The only way to adjust the guidance volume is to drill down through the Nav setup menus to the guidance sound and adjust the volume on the screen. The dash knob only affects media devices and has no effect on guidance at any time. Sadly, this update didn't fix that. I really liked it better 2 versions ago. . . . . .

Thank you. I had the same issue a few weeks ago as I finally picked up a new 32 card. Screen said update downloads suspended November 21 to ? I have a 2019GTS. I was going to post about it but have not had the time. please post when you are able to download the upgrade

I'm with you., I much prefer the older way of controlling the volume of the active thing at that moment.
