Good afternoon everyone.

I am a Dealer in Calgary, AB, Canada. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with their NAV system not providing voice prompts, and if so, how did you fix it?

A good customer of mine picked up his GT Limited in August, and since pick up his nav system has not been giving him voice prompts - ex :"turn left in 500m"

I'm sure he can't be the only one.

We are still waiting to hear back from Kia Canada, But, I came across this forum and figured I'd give it a shot.

I've put his stinger right next to one on our lot, set both to factory setting, went through all other setting to make sure they were the exact same, swapped the SD cards.. still the issue is there.

Voice can be turned off in the settings menu. There is also a mute button on the Nav screen. More than likely, someone disabled voice on a test drive.

Voice is on, Mute is off. Like I mentioned, Two stingers side by side, all settings are the exact same. One has voice prompts, the other does not.

Did you verify that in addition to the muted being off the volume is up? The navigation volume is separate from the music volume. Without digging through the menus it can only be changed when the navigation lady is actually speaking.

When the volume is changed on a stinger without the issue it says "navigation will now be at this volume", which it does not do on the customers stinger. Without the navigation speaking at all, it is pretty difficult to turn it up separately.

Okay so what you're talking about is in the sound settings>volume levels>navigation volume.

I'm pretty sure it controls the sound the same way I mentioned but for shits and giggles type in an address into the GPS. Click the start guidance button and quickly adjust the volume with the knob to see of you can increase it.

Also, in the sound settings>navigation volume screen there's two different options. One allows the volume to be controlled with the volume knob the other you have adjust it on screen. Verify which option you have selected and adjust the sound based on the selection.

Also also, verify that the sound is turned up for both voice and navigation by going to the sound settings>volume levels screen. For some reason they're separate.

If none of that works burn it and file an insured claim.

Such a strange issue to have. Everything is as it should be (and maxed volume on every setting I can find), but no guidance prompts.

That's so weird. Is the balance set to center? Just in case the voice usually comes from a single speaker...

I have no idea then.

Mine had no navigation audio for one drive cycle--it fixed itself overnight, presumably when the infotainment system powered down. Pull the fuse to reboot it?
